This Clifford Clavin dude is a genius. No doubt.

Lol
Levins been doing too much long distance slogging. This is his last desperate gasp- Rupp will go on to set American records in 5k , 10k, and marathon.

This kid is showing Rupp how it is done. Levins will have a better career than Rupp. There is no doubt.
So he will win Olympic gold then!

Well, Levins does not have to win Olympic gold to have a better career than Galen Rupp. It is obvious that Paul Tergat, Zersenay Tadese and Sileshi Sihine, among many others, have had better careers than Galen Rupp, and I am not aware that any of them have Olympic gold.
Kip Litton on a bicycle > Cam Levins and Galen Rupp but just barely so
They laughed at you. They mocked you. But the legendary Clifford is to be respected as Cam Levins ends his career as a faster marathoner than Galen Rupp. Kudos. You may have been trolling but you were telling some truth here.
Awesome race! Congrats Cam! Being in the hunt that late in the game... Be proud.
Time to start utilizing the Canadian Mileage System. The Turkey Trot Master's ribbon will be mine!
Rupp's not out of it yet! He'll be back.
I know what he means. You're right, too, about the possibility of a short career, but I see Levins as being less scientific (for lack of a better term). He almost reminds me of the Bill Rogers model from the 70's/80's- just run.
It seems to be working for him.
I was really bored and re-watched the 2012 10,000. Rupp was 2nd and ran an intelligent race. Four years later he was 3rd in the Marathon.
That's a great career. My only complaint with Rupp (and with MANY others) is that he didn't race enough. I would have liked to see him racing more just to see the best American race.
But, I remember an interview with Salazar in his prime, at his best when he criticized other top runners for racing too often saying that he could do more in training to than in a 28:30 10K road race.
That was his style.
You see Levins as being less scientific? Wow, that's really quite an original title for the guy, how did you come up with such crafty words (insert major eyes rolling)?
You can't even spell the name Rodgers correctly?
It seems to be working for him? Wow, that too is quite a statement...AFTER he runs 2:05.
Some of you posters should read what you post before hitting the enter button.
Do you even run? Have you ever at least broken 3 hours? Do you understand training?
Awesome race by Cam
