BYU`s incoming freshman class AMAZING

Wow....

It'll take 4 years for that class to really get going, though. Most will redshirt next year, then 2 years for missions, then a year to get back into shape.

Give them a few years to "train" and by the time they are 25 they will be winning NCAA's. Instead of calling it the class of 2016 it's really the class of 2020. Cool stuff

I believe that BYU is also getting a 1:47 transfer.

I look forward to seeing them run as seniors in about ten years.

Sportsmanship and Dickson do not belong in the same thread/sentence/stratosphere. Sportsmanship is apparently for those who won't go to the celestial kingdom to Dickson.

I`m sorry but your post makes no sense

5 of them will never shirt. At least 2 will come off their mission, run for 2 months, get married then quit. 2 will end up underperforming which means mean your left with 2 studs! Sounds like typical BYU to me.

What precedent has this had? BYU has had strong teams, one needs to look no further than last falls XC nationals placing 4th after winning the Mountain Region. Who did they have quit off that team? Who never ran in uniform that could of helped them?

Every year they have outstanding classes, signing several more athletes than they need and many of those guys disappear. It is survival of the fittest, and has helped make them a top 5 team, but it is true about half of those guys will never run there.

Those are some classic Mormon first names. "Dallin" is the strongest of the incoming crew but "Haven" may be a dark horse.

And yet it is only the second best recruiting class in their own conference, weird.

I came in with a really strong class back in the 90's, but not as amazing as that class. Everyone ran well freshman year and it was a great atmosphere. It's true that after we got back from our missions about half the guys dropped out for various reasons-difficulty/frustration getting back into shape, loss of motivation, change of priorities etc. I came back a lot heavier than when I left on my mission and it took me a year to get back to my freshman fitness level. The year to get back is fairly standard though there are guys like Rohatinsky who seemed to just take a couple weeks because he was such a talent. The attrition rate is pretty high. Ed's doing a better job of retaining and developing the guys who come in, but it's still a challenge.

How come you guys cant go on your mission after college?

It's a lot harder to put things on hold when you're 22 than 19. Can you imagine trying to find a job after having no relevant work experience for 2 years after you graduated? It wouldn't work.

That sort of dynamic is hardly unique to BYU.
