whatever happened to Wheating running the 800? I thought this was the event he ran mostly during his college years?

He ran 1:46 like a week ago
I think he should shift focus back to the 800. He's only run a few great 1500/miles compared to a lot of great 800s. It seems like he's changed focus after that 3:30, which was a great race, but not necessarily an indication that he's better at the 15 than the 8. He's tall like Rudisha and seems more efficient when he's running 800s.
Wheating, while a huge talent has some work to do
Right now, there is no way that I can see him making a team at either event
He opened at 3:45
ran 1;46 mid
2:20 for 1000M
and now this and it is much closer to 3:39 point than 3:38
Symmonds and KD appear to be almost locks at 800 , after Saturday
Jock can run fast and will lead as always you would think as can Ryan Martin at 1:44.7x
Loxsom has 45 high relay speed and can be a threat if right
Andrews has only run 1:47.11 but his 3:34.xx 1500 has to indicate he can run in the low 1:44 range at least
Where would Wheating fit in? There are actually more guys that that at 1500 who just look better including Leo
Does not even look as fast as Torrence, Russell Brown or Acosta who ran 3:36.xx and is only getting there now.
Not sure where Merber fits his 3:35.59 is fast would like to see him right there at NCAA's
All good points, but I'll not be surprised at all if Wheating makes the team in either event.
I wish I could clown around into a sub 4 mile.
I do too, but evev if I could it wouldn't make me an Olympian.
Andrews owns wheating.
Wheating should run his next race in full clown costume just to stick it to LR.
Track has to be the only sport where superfans spend their free time on message boards running down the heroes of the sport they love. This is all pretty disgusting.
BTW, none of you clowns gave Wheating a shot in 2008 either. Good luck Andrew. Shove it up everyone's a$$e$.

He runs in lanes two and three, presumably to "stay out of trouble," yet he almost falls down three times in three laps? If he's going to end up in the back anyway, why not just tuck in and stay put until the racing starts?
these guys don't race enough.
They train and wait for the perfect moment to release their inner self.
Then find that the scenario was not as predicted.
fact is, it takes a long long time to come back from injury - even if you are elite.
Look at Bekele, look at Webb, look at Pierce, look at Ritz - they all have taken years to get back to where they were pre injury, or they are still not there.
Most likely Wheating won't be in 3:32 shape again until next summer.
Can anyone think of an olympic level 1500 or longer runner who was out for 6 months and came back the next year near pre-injury levels?
Bump
2016 will be his year. #rio #wheatinggivesabeating
