Kenyan's don't actually grow hair on the top of their heads.
kenyan\'s what?
Why do all American's insist on having short hair? Cook cutter Americans. Bland bland bland.
I started a thread about this once too. Never really got a good answer, and everyone thought I was racist.
Still, Duncan Kibet is one who breaks the mold at least. Individuality isn't really celebrated in every culture though it seems.
Never thought about this before but I demand an answer now!

They should think about it really. Or at least get told to do it by the guy who 'deals with their money'.
A Kenyan with a bit of individuality could be quite a money spinner.
The question may appear vaporous, but on the contrary it's quite essential: if the Kenyan (and Ethiopian) elites showed more personality (not necessarily hair styles, but also web presence, fiery commentary, controversial stances etc) they could garner more corporate support and heighten the visibility of the sport.
As it stands, their sole focus is on winning races.
I think the whole Kenyan way of life, the Akuna Matata approach to running, is a treasure trove just waiting to be leveraged.

Yes I watch track and I see 99% bald Kenyans.

Same reason cyclists shave their legs: aerodynamics. Air flow over a bald head is smoother/faster than air flow over a 'fro.

Excellent point because Ezekiel Kemboi is just like all other Kenyans and doesn't garner any special attention.
Yeah, what's the world coming to when no Africans have afros, only Americans?

Excellent post, making it clear that you really DON'T watch track.
Asked my kenyan friend about this, he said the perception is afros are dirty. Although I am not black, I guess afros require more maintenance and bathing and hygiene are easier with shaved head.
Kenyans, not Kenyan's.

Eh, the black people I know say that their hair structure is different and they don't need to wash it everyday.
