I'm an ex-15:20 guy (in my late 20s). Now, I'm nearly 50 and run around 18:45 on a (very) good day. My chess rating is 2050.
Yes, I know there's no link between the two; but I am wondering who else out there enjoys both activities as much as I do.

I'm not good at chess, but I've gone through occasional periods of playing a lot. I always used to get weird, chess-move hallucinations after I played: my brain would be calculating moves to get out of the way as people walk toward me. It's a very strange feeling. Is that common?

What scale?
ELO

I assume a 2050 ELO is better then a 18:45 5k
Runners are nerds! I ran 16:20 5k and have been rated up to 1600 (blitz) on FICS.
i have never been rated at chess. i've never lost, but i've probably never played anyone of significance. i'd consider myself fluent in the game, but not excellent. i'm a 15:40 5k runner.
Nothing too great, 13:45, 2250.
13:08 and 9001
I used to be USCF 1900 when I wasn't to serious about running the years after college. Now I'm around 1800 and focus on running more, I only play in 2-3 tournaments a year. I used to be able to beat one of my friends who is almost a National Master now.
I love both as well you clearly have a clever sense of pastimes. Great minds think alike as they say
FIDE rating of 2835, but unfortunately I cannot run.
Chessboxing is a lot manlier than "Chessrunning."
Approximately 2200 Elo rating when I was in my early twenties.
2:18-2:20 marathons when I was in my early thirties.
I haven't played a serious game of chess in about thirty years, although I still read chess books for fun, and I played over a number of the games in the just-completed world championship match between Anand and Gelfand.

Wow, that's impressive.
As a runner and chess player myself, I've often wondered about performance "equivalence" between running times and chess ratings. I don't think comparing overall finisher/rating list percentiles is meaningful, as they're dragged down by mass participation.
Ignoring age-grading, what sounds right to you ...
3:00 marathon == USCF 2000? (Most can achieve this with dedication)
2:45 marathon == USCF 2200? (Extremely strong)
2:20 marathon == USCF 2600? (US Champs qualifier)

3:00 marathon is pretty much a rec runner for a dude, nowhere near being a USCF-rated expert.

Only 12 people qualified by the US Championships this year, so that makes the USCF 2600 more equivalent to ~2:13ish.
I like both these activities, I'm not great at either one.
