Boy, racing the NYC marathon was a really great idea...
Right, because she'd never been injured before, up to that point.
One more reason to cut on the stupid shit.
the truth is, its this right here from
Fleshman...all the time!!!!
I don't think anyone ignored qwerty. Regardless of rabbiting or racing she is hurt/coming back from injury. What exactly is the purpose? Maybe to feel worse about yourself when you step off totally spent after 4K knowing that the race hasn't even started yet? Maybe for a check? Everyone slams Al Sal but at least his runners get out there and do it.
I'm not blaming her coach. I think Lauren does what Lauren wants to do. She has been through Vin, Mammouth, Vin, OTC. I hate to see it. I hate to see her making feakin power bars and running logs when she could be locked down loading up on fitness. You hardly see Shalane. One thing for sure is she isn't cooking gluten free power bars. When she isn't running she is sleeping or lifting or doing drills or getting massage. She is wired differently she doesn't get bored or mentally stale with training.
You only have a few yrs and once they are gone, they are not coming back. You can do all those things when your old.
I'm quite sure Lauren has written on her blog that she is far happier and running better when she has something to do other than train. Thinking about nothing but running 24/7 will make some athletes crazy--like Alan Webb counting his steps. We all know how much Let's Run loves to talk about what a head case Webb is.

Have you ever had one of those Picky Bars? They are seriously amazing. If she never makes an Olympic team, and her career as a runner is at an ebb, at least she has contributed something positive to the world. Multidimensional people are more interesting, anyway.
Yes, I have and they are amazing but I would rather place my order for next yr. and instead watch her medal this yr. A person doesn't lose dimension because they focus like crazy for a few yrs. Doctors focus, lawyers focus, Mo and Galen focus, Frank Shorter focused. If she was running 14:44 then you would have me convinced.
I'm going to buy a box of Picky Bars.
August 2011 wasn't that long ago:
Momanyi had no answer to Fleshman's surge. I don't think many expected her to win that race. Most were expecting to see if Clitheroe could get anywhere near Momanyi. LF came like a bolt out of the blue.
It's a real shame to think she won't be in London this summer.
what kind of pace is the 10k asking for? could be a good time trial for fleshman. If she runs 15:30 as a smooth even split effort, that would actually be an excellent indicator of fitness for the trials.

She has an IT band injury, it is pretty typical for jogging/slow running to irritate IT band injuries much more than intense/sprinting workouts
+1000!!
Obviously you are smarter than the rest of us and know what's best for Fleshman. We should all shut up and bow down to your genius.
Articulate? Reading that quotation is like reading drivel from a 7th grade creative writing class. She is the most self absorbed person ever. How about a little humility and toning down the endless self promotion? If she wasn't cute would anyone care? I think not.
Judging by your writing level, I don't think you're in any position to judge.
It was good to see her running again - even if it was just four laps. The upside for her was probably a nice sized paycheck and her performance was right on expectation. Great job Lauren and get well soon!

I am a HUGE Lauren Fleshman fan.
Oh do tell you Ass! Im like six thrye, 230 powns. Biggish for a runner, thats me. I still broke 19 for the 5 thousind meaters.
Orbit I didn't cut you down nor did I cut Lauren down. Every one of your comments are negative and negatively directed at another poster. Your sarcastic and arrogant. Even your shoe reviews suck bc if anyone questions you they are thrown under the Nike train.
