This further validates my contention that Galen is not, despite being a great 10,000m runner, a medal contender. Galen is simply not a medal contender caliber runner. Maybe Galen can run close to his 3:39 pb, or even dip under it.

Bekele's PB is 3:32.35, very impressive. I'd expect Rupp to run under 3:37 in a well paced race. But if he could run 3:34, that would be something.
He probably won't run for some reason.

Wow, this is impressive. You're claiming that your prediction of future events validates your opinion on other future events, despite the former events having not yet occurred.
Well, I understand how one who is unable to draw inferences and conclusions from chains of causation would be so easily impressed, but please, I remain humble, as what I do is effortless for me, even if it would leave your brain tied in knots.
great to see him run a 1500 outdoors after that indoor fiasco
he is a 3'34, maybe even 3'33 in a perfect race, but he has to gun it from the shot
3:34.
kudos to everyone who called 3:34.

does something=medal?
Galen Rupp has proven that he is the greatest American distance runner ever. He proved it as a high school runner, a college runner and a professional runner. He proved it based on his performances in the 1500, 5k and 10k, taken in combination.
I can't wait to see the quality of runners that we will send to London this year.
maybe he will be, but he has not proven much.... he has too win a medal, and get the 5k american record... wouldn't be surprised if they both got them

Maybe! It would help if he could beat his teammate Mo, but he's looking great! Should be an exciting summer!
No, he already proved it. A medal in London would be good too.
Galen seems to be able to represent the USA with humility. He just seems to get better every year with no excuses. He's the guy that you can say earned it and are proud to back even if there is no metal.
Do you know that Lagat is an American?
Yes, what does that have to do with Galen Rupp? Lagat achieved great things in Kenya and America. Galen Rupp has a history that starts in HS - 13:37. Guys like Webb and Rupp started this.

Good call Ventolin
Rupp is looking good. I didn't think he was a 3:34 guy. New AR this summer?

For all the shit everyone gives this man on the boards, he called this one perfectly. Talk all you want, but all Rupp does is show up and race. He will go down as the best in U.S. History, watch.
Did you know that Lagat has been a U.S. citizen since 2004, when Rupp was in high school? I'll allow that he ran for Kenya in the 04' Olympics so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and call it 05' since Lagat has been an American. Your own post makes my question have everything to do with Rupp.
