This country has too many guns. Any sociopath can get one. This sociopath killed a pastor's husband for no reason. When will we wake up and say enough is enough?
The real cause of this crime is racism within the black community. That older white man was targetted because of his race.
Even if there are too many guns, what can be done about this now? I have not doubt that the person who shot the jogger had obtained his gun illegally.
Don't blame the gun blame the person that shot him...If the killer used a knife would you blame the knife? If the killer used a rock would you blame the rock? If the killer ran him over with a car would you blame the car? If someone wants to kill someone they are going to kill them...

what!?! wait a minute. i thought we outlawed dangerous driving. damn!
We outlawed dangerous shooting too. What's your point?
what country is that?
Here is something else to consider for anti-gun people: About 18,000 murders were committed in 2011 of which about 63 percent were committed with a gun. However, on the other side of that is 1.5 million (conservative figure) people that used a gun for self defense against violent crime...Take the guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens and many of those 1.5 million people defending themselves would also be dead! Thus, raising your murder rate in the USA! It's a numbers game...criminals will always get guns!

The people buying guns legally are usually not the ones out hurting others.
That is a false statement.
The vast majority of people being shot are shot be people using guns they legally purchased.
Cops, suicides, accidents, domestic disputes, etc;. People are getting lit up every few minutes in America
So are we supposed to carry guns while we run?

Details of these events.

I moved overseas for work to a country with very tight gun laws and virtually no guns in the public sphere. After my first contract finished I chose to stay, largely because it is the first time in my life I have really felt free in my day-to-day life. Americans have NO idea what kind of basic freedom they are giving up by choosing to allow guns to be readily available. You can't understand what freedom really is until you live somewhere where the possibility of being randomly gunned down is not a part of your everyday reality.
Security is not freedom.
Here to save the MF day.

I guarantee you that if this psychopath did not have access to a gun, that jogger would still be alive today. Way too easy to kill people with a gun.
I agree that people kill people. But it's much easier to kill someone when you have a gun.
Way too many guns in this country. Columbine, Virginia Tech. Jogger outside a gas station. What's it going to take for you to say enough is enough?
What are the odds that this gun was not purchased legally? Puts a dent in your argument if it was not a registered weapon.
This is a really stupid argument.
Canada borders the US. Our countries are very similar with almost identical pop culture influences and societal norms.
We have outlawed handguns. We have a very low murder rate.
Gee I wonder if there is a corelation?

What about the innonecent people that have been gunned down in Canada with illegal hand guns? Shouldn't they have had a right to protect themselves?
We need guns because we have viloent people im America. Take the guns away and those violent peole don't go away they just become more empowered...
what about the 8,000 home invasions that happen in America each day? Do you want your child, wife, mother, friend or relative walking in on one of those?
The debate will go on forever...we will never rid this country of guns....
400,000 people die each year from smoking and our kids are becoming fat shits and will be dropping dead from cariovascular disease at alarming rates--this is where are voices and energy should be...???

are you trolling or are you actually arguing that Canada would be safer if we allowed guns?
No reason to think you have more violent people in the US than Canada - but impulsive, violent people can squeeze their finger and kill you in less than a second if they have a gun.
Up here, without guns, it takes a lot more work, risk, and thought to kill someone - that alone reduces the murder rate.
Not trolling at all...Just a big proponent of the second amendment....

source? are you really saying that 1 in every 200 people has defended themselves from violent crime with a gun? maybe you misread and it said 1.5 thousand?
