So a 3:35 1500 = a 3:58 1600?
Sigh.

Oh and WTF happened to Lee Emanual and Will Leer? And can anyone speak to what happened with nick Willis?
Nick Willis was there as a pacer for his former teammates (Brannen, etc.).

Nick Willis bombed out, couldn't handle the A-standard pace by the pacemaker
He was a pacer you idiot
OK. That makes sense. I knew Willis has been running pretty well lately. I was just wondering if he was hurt or pacing.
But Emanual...ever since looking like an absolute stud in NCAA indoors, he hasn't done a whole lot it seems.

Wills was the pacemaker!
JESUS. From 3:58 to 3:52 equivalent. Where the hell did that come from?

It was a troll just saying that since his actual full mile PR is 3:58 he's only a 3:58 miler, just like wehn trolls say Lagat is only a 3:47 miler despite running a 3:26, or trolls that say Bekele has never broken 4 in the mile even though he's run a 3:32 and his indoor 2000m record, 4:49, is faster than 4:00 pace.
Btw not exactly on subject, but if Nick Willis wants to be an Olympic Gold medal winner and beat the likes of 3:29 men Kiprop and Kiplagat, shouldn't he be able to run a 3:35 time trial on his own if he'd even dream of doing that? Kiprop ran a solo 2:44 1200m time trial at altitude, you'd figure Willis would be able to do a 3:35 time trial if he even dreamed of beating Kiprop this summer
you guys read it wrong... it was murga not murber

Willis was the hare.
I got what the trolls were arguing about. I'm saying, HOW THE HELL DID HE GO FROM 3:58 TO 3:52-EQUIVALENT? That's insane, and no, none of his other pr's suggested this.
Yeah, why does willis always pace and then drop out? What's the point...
So how does the math now work?
Merber>Lalang>Levins>Derrick>Sambu>Ahmed>Batty>Korir
3:52.67y from IAAF
This made me look him up. In high school, his pr's seemed to be 4:12 mile and maybe 1:53 800m from 2008. He ran 3:58.52 indoors over two years ago, March 2010. Then he seems not to have competed last spring in track (injured/redshirting?), before improving a lot in cross country last year. This race saw major pr's from many people in the field, but Merber's drop was huge (7 seconds or had he run better than 3:42?) and he is all of a sudden one of the best in the country, pro or college. He is also listed as a philosophy major at Columbia, which has a fine department. Props to him.
I was his year in HS and I thought he was faster than a 4:12 guy. But, maybe I just remember him for his headband instead of his times

Dick head, he was the pacemaker. He pulled out on schedule.

He had a serious foot injury that kept him out for a while.
http://runningtimes.com/Print.aspx?articleID=25860Well he did win Milrose, usually those are sub-4:10 caliber boys, so the 4:12 may have been a soft PR.
Here's a question - after spanking Merber up and down the Penn Relays, what the hell kind of shape must Donn Cabral be in?
