Swarthmore track is short. Duh.
Anyone have an actual LINK to the results???
Nope! Enjoy the suspense!
What's a Merber?
Results?
A 3:58 miler prior to today...
Holy jesus dear god
Almost Olympic "A" ! And Huling 3:37????
TWELVE sub-3:40s at a little DIII meet?!?! Jesus.
Oh and WTF happened to Lee Emanual and Will Leer? And can anyone speak to what happened with nick Willis?
Whoa whoa whoa--Van Ackeren and Stilin!
WOW. Running Times had a profile on Merber this winter where he talked about his goals of making the OTs, and I thought it was just typical pie in the sky goals from a college kid.
I remember when Brian Hyde ran this in 1995. It was just as stunning. He beat Steve Holman in a small meet out of the blue. His best was a 3:59 mile. A year later Brian made the 1996 Olympic team.
Hyde made the 1996 Olympic team because of that 3:35 at UNC in 1995.
5th at the Trials but the 2nd and 4th place finishers never hit the A standard.

It's a last chance meet that lots DI teams go to. The meet is usually "magic" and there are a lot of fast times. The school may be DIII but the competition isn't. Also, Nick Willis was pacing. Sick race.

Still a 3:58 miler how bout that
Almost Oly A in a light rain on a mediocre Recortan track.... Merber 58,1:55,2:37 for 1100, 58 last lap.
Nick Willis bombed out, couldn't handle the A-standard pace by the pacemaker

So a 3:35 1500 = a 3:58 1600?
