Does anyone know how the MR points work? It says in the rules that you get double points for a MR and triple for a WR. You also get double pts from your captain.
I got a win and MR from Walter Dix, my captain. Do I get 40 pts for this?
If so I had
40,20,10,10,1,20,7,7 = 115
wrong....max you can get having taken the rules of the game into account which i doubt many of u even understand means you can score a max of 150. As can only have two athletes from one nation.

True, except they don't say anything about this in the rules:
http://iaafworldathleticsclub.org/FantasyAthletics/1/Welcome.aspxWe figured that out for ourselves, but if you read the rules it mentions nothing about only being able to pick 2 from each country. The wording is a bit vague and it is unclear whether a captain who gets a MR will get 40 or 20 points.
Why haven't the scores updated????!!!!
Rudisha (c): 20
Dix:20
Merritt: 20
Kipruto: 1
Ostapchuk: 20
Foster Hylton: 10
Walker: 10
Defar: 7
Total: 108. Not bad at all.
yes you are right.
Last year the fantasy league was a complete bollox, the iaaf are extremely slow to update the points, I imagine going by last year they will be updated by tomorrow evening or monday at the latest, usually 2 days after the event finishes but sometimes quicker if the next event is within 2 days of the previous one.
The guys on the message board at track and field news are very knowledgeable about this league as many of them have been doing it every year and are very good at predicting the outcome (not just distance events like you guys).
MRs get double points. if your captain has MRed you will earn 40pts. If he/she world records you will get 60pts.
For you guys that are new to this I suggest you check out this link

and try to pick your team based on the most achievable meet records, if no meet record exists for that venue it means there will be a guaranteed meet record for that event and its up to you then to predict the winner.
Also note, to do well in this competition you need to be on the ball particularly close to meet lock down time as often is the case when certain athletes withdraw at the last minute. And you will receive no compensation if this happens to you.
Just having a quick look ahead to shanghai, right away I see so many possible Meet record opportunities so its gona be fun trying to guess right.
my number one tip to any of you playing this game is to ensure you have a winning captain no matter what. The gamblers among us then can have a go at trying to pick a captain who can MR.
Best of luck in the game, if any questions just ask.
I scored 124pts in Doha incase you were wondering and the highest I score i am aware of thus far is 130.
OSTAPCHUK (c) 40
DIX 20
MERRITT 20
RUDISHA 10
MENKOV 10
CAMPBELL-BROWN 7
RYPAKOVA 10
CHERUIYOT 10
Total: 127, not too shabby
Rudisha (capt.) - 20, missed MR by .11
Dix - 20
Merritt - 20
Koech - 20
Walker - 10, missed MR by .35 sec
Abakumova - 10
Rypakova - 10, missed MR by .03m
Defar - 7
117, 7 for 8 on picking winners, but some heart-breakingly close MRs kept me from really rocking. In retrospect it was expecting a little too much to think Rudisha would go 1:42.xx.
Results up now, some guy scored 139pts!
Seems very competitive this year.
IT will not let me log in?????

Shanghai Diamond league wont be so easy, good luck to every one
Start doing your homework from now.
I was er... 5th from the bottom. My view on t/f may indeed be worthless.
Reminder: You can start making your Shanghai picks today.
What are everyone's picks? Distance events from men's 800 on up are going to be pretty tough to call.
I'll give this another bump. Shanghai on Saturday.
Bumping again. Must do your picks over for tomorrow.
I just did mine and good god was it tough. There are some events where I'm sure the Meeting Record will go down but I just don't know who will be the one to break it as there are multiple competitors who can win that event. In other events I can pick the winner but the meeting record isn't obtainable. Trying to find a balance between picking meeting records and winners is tough because you only get the bonus if they win.
got 40 solid points from my captain discus thrower sandra p b/c she set a meet record.
in other news, janeth j of kenya screwed me in the 1500 and s hooker did terribly in the pole vault, no height i believe
I just registered in time for Shanghai, but the results have no updated yet. How long did it take last meet for the results to update?
