Your first 3 are good. Wake Forest #4. Honestly I would rank Georgia Tech #5, although they are rather specialized. After that there is really a blanket that can be thrown over a bunch of schools. I'd put them in this order, although I wouldn't quibble with anybody who wanted a different one:
6. Maryland
7. Virginia Tech
8. NC State
9. Boston College
10. Miami
11. Florida State
12. Clemson (they stand out at the bottom, by a lot)
Curious as to why Clemson would stand out at the bottom "by a lot." From what I understand, it's a good school. Great engineering/sciences, pretty decent business school. I believe it is in the top 25 for public schools in the nation as well.
Not bad, by a lot.

I ranked by totally subjective feeling and off the top of my head. I may have done Clemson a disservice but I've just never heard anybody speak highly of them as an undergraduate institution. Anyway, just to put some data up from US News:
Duke boasts the league’s highest ranking at 10th and they are joined in the Top 25 by Virginia (25) and Wake Forest (25). Also in the Top 40 are North Carolina (29), Boston College (31), Georgia Tech (36) and Miami (38). Just out of the Top 50, Maryland ranked 55th, followed by Clemson (68), Virginia Tech (71), and Florida State and NC State tied at 101.
I could live with those rankings.
Interestingly it looks like I overranked the schools that I generally think of as primarily engineering schools.
I think that's because the rankings are done on more of a "well-rounded" basis. Georgia Tech has probably one of the better engineering schools in the nation, but that's really all they have, so they're going to have trouble being ranked higher.

Yes, I am sure that is right. I think both Virginia Tech and NC State have respectable engineering programs but I would not recommend somebody going to either of those to study English (not horrible but not nearly as respectable as the engineering).
There's no way Wake Forest is a better school than UNC, and I don't care what US News says.
1. Duke
2a. UVA
2b. UNC
3. Wake Forest
4. Boston College
5. Georgia Tech
UN News ranks Pittsburgh 58 and Syracuse 62. So right in the middle of the pack.
duke
wake
UVA
UNC
BC

the rest
GT can't be included. They are a specialized, world class engineering school. While VT and NCST have highly regarded engineering programs, they lag somewhat behind tech.
1a- Duke
1b- UNC
1c- UVA
4- Wake
5- Boston College
6- Maryland
7- Syracuse
8- Pitt
9- Miami
10- VT
11- NCST
12- Clemson
13- FSU

Why are you surprised that Wake is a better school?
I have not seen any statistics but it seems like UMD ends up turning a lot of smart kids into dropouts/burnouts.
World Rankings: #35 Duke, #57 Pittsburgh
NOT Ranked: Maryland, Syracuse, Miami, Virgina Tech, North Caolina State, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Virginia, Boston College

UNC-CH is a overblown public school.

Pitt isn't close to being 13 either.
