they MUST nothing. And they won't send anyone. Koen said so himself, that he's been told he won't be selected and then why the fu** would they let Butter go? Very sad not to see Koen go as I consider him a friend of mine.
Also Norway's Urige Buta is a very probable selection but nothing official yet
That's the way it is. The rules are the rules. I'm fine with the rules. But It's still absurd.
What's the difference between 2:10 and 2:11 in terms of Olympic medals contention? NONE. 2:10 IN THIS ERA It's not top 10 material.
Hell!!! even Ryan Hall (2:06 or 2:04.58 PB...whatever) probably is out of top 10 contention right now.
For me...with Butter already having 2:12 "A" standard (I mean IAAF standards), 2:16 at 2012 Boston Marathon is still more valuable than a 2:10 flat at Rotterdam, Dubai, Berlin, etc.
You have to expect a hot and warm wheather in London. Which didn't happen in Dubai, Rotterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, etc.
Same case with Koen. What's the difference Between 2:10 and 2:10.08? What? With 2:09.59 you really have a shot? Hell, no!!!
None of these runners are top 10 contenders. With 2:10 or 2:12...so, send one and make at least 1 of them happy, fullfilling his Olympic dream.
