A shout out to Employee #1s piece on Abel Kirui.
On BBC men's feed they are talking about Renato Canova and said, "I read that in training they'll do 40k runs at 2:10 pace"
They didn't say it was Employee#1s piece but here it is:
"With Kirui's group, he has handed them some incredibly long (up to 40k), fast runs. Basically, a few times each marathon cycle, these guys are running almost full marathons at almost full effort, considering the altitude. "They ran essentially a 2:10 marathon today," Canova explains in the Saturday afternoon sun. "

Makau just went up to the pacemakers again and got on their shoulders. It's the 2nd time he's done it
29:34 10 K
10km 29:34 2nd 5k only 14:58
men 10k 29:34
Anyone else think there is going to be a wr today. They are going out fast and even if Kipsang does not get it Makua will and then if he doesn't Kirui will and if he doesn't Mutai will.
No WR today.
There is a silent war between him and Kipsang. Kipsang believes he is a better marathoner than Makau. From the start of the race, Kipsang has shown his intentions by sticking to the shoulders of pacers. Now Makau is trying to show to him that I am here just watching you! It is kind of an intimidation, if you like.
