You're right but my method is different,it's always compared to a steady WR pace,getting the gap and adjusting it to the distance.

I watched it live on the TV (Eurosport here in the UK). That's a very good time for that course - Paris does have some inclines - it's certainly a slower course than Rotterdam, Berlin, London...
Marathon debut for the the third place guy and in commentary they were saying his HM PB is only 64:xx, so the split was a huge HM PR for him...
