Marcus Boyd ran 45.42 last year and ran sub 47 this year indoors, but he ran 49 today?! Unless he was injured, it has to be conditions.

Nope!
Wariner is simply doing what they all do, no big deal at all. They have a few years the top then here comes the fade. That's just how it goes.
You can't begin to imagine how bad the wind was in Austin today. Plus, Wariner had to run the next heat after his blocks slipped and he couldn't get going in his original section.
the wind was bad at the track early in the meet during the 400s and 100s. right after wariner's run there we some 100s with 7.3m/s winds
Here are the top 10 from the UTECH Classic 2012, in moist but otherwise good conditions:
Finals
1 Thompson, Oral Swept Track Club 45.95
2 Steele, Edino Racers Track Club 46.16
3 Armando Palomeque, Deigo Colombia 46.36
4 Maitland, Nicholas Racers Track Club 46.63
5 Mullings, Dwight Racers Track Club 46.79
6 Mason, Michael Sprint Tech 46.88
7 Gayle, Jermaine Racers Track Club 46.90
8 Matthews, Peter Racers Track Club 47.40
9 Murray, Demar Racers Track Club 47.43
10 Makwala, Isaac High Performance 47.66
So he had run the 200 an hour and a half before. It's possible that he wasn't at 100% effort.
So he was running in lane 8, completely blind in windy conditions? This is a non-story wejo.

+1
Marcus Boyd, a former baylor kid and now Nike guy went 49.
more proof this was just bad conditions
Eh...I'll wait to pass judgment after he races some decent competition. Because my judgment is more important than the rest of you fools.
It did not appear to be an all out effort.
It was windy. At our track meet in Texas everyone ran slower than the previous week. I ran 1500 in just over 5:00 instead of 800 (like last week). In my race the wind was 32 mph.
Our best woman (at 42) ran 2:01.60 last week for 800. This week she ran 2:03.06 beating 8 others in her bare feet again. In her race the wind was listed as 36 mph. When I talked to her she said the wind kept her from beating her time last week.
It was cloudy, about 80, over 70 for humidity and the wind was between 24 mph early in the day to 40 mph during our meet.
Maybe Jeremy W. will be fine but he should have went running hard through the finish line when he was at his best (like so many I see slowing before the finish line). He can still make the Olympics. 400 meters runners are lucky to get the chance in the 4x4.
Looked to me to like there was a headwind on the backstretch- Wariner's last 100m looked very good even considering the tailwind. Didn't really slow down the last 20m indicating that there's more left in the tank. I'm predicting a 44.1 this year.
The headwind was on the backstretch, as there were huge tailwinds on the 100m heats around then.
Texas Tech had more severe winds than Austin and had a faster 400m there. JW would have been smoked by a bunch of college/juco kids if he had been there...but, it is was probably more windy in Austin than Lubbock...that's common, right?

Why were all of them running personal bests then?

I would love to see a video of this. Is it on Flotrack by any chance?

For whom?
Ha!
If it was windy it was windy wether some other athlete ran a pr is not really relevant as they may still have been in shape to run faster
What puzzles me is why he running 2 400m's so early in the season, that might suit the American seasons but not the European, the timing of which the Olympics is based on. Maybe I'm wrong here, have the other US runners started as early?

Just got an email from Bert Richardson the guy who emailed us earlier in the week saying not to right off Jeremy Wariner after we commented on his 45.64 Opener
