If this is you, then I like that you are advertising for yourself. We want the athletes to have exposure and the best way to do that is to interact directly with your audience/fans.
+1
It would also be nice if runners good enough to get a shoe contract would be encouraged to post on LRC.

I'm sure more of them would post if LRC didn't turn into such a nasty environment when it comes to the elites. Can you imagine what the trolls would do if Ryan Hall started a thread to open a discussion? I'd like to see a locked thread where only registered posters could reply somehow.
nike
renato canova and scott simmons in colorado springs
her money will be undisclosed
i hope she picks canova, i think she can be a good marathoner after a few more years at 3k,5k, and soon 10k
good luck to her
Kind of sad that a top level college athlete no longer has McMillan on their visit list. That didn't take very long.
This is a great discussion! Here are some of my thoughts during the decision making process.
If you voted, great! Does my analysis of each option make you question your idea? Or does it solidify it? If you have not yet voted, today is the last day!
Here are my thoughts.
I think it will come down to hard-sell recruiting.
Only Schumaker and Simmons have that NCAA recruiting experience but Simmons focused on coaching not recruiting the Nike guys don't need to recruit.
The Hansons and Hudson, however, are rabid recruiters (to a fault - has Brad friended you in Facebook?) Hudson doesn't have the charisma, and while Kevin can be a bit used-car-salesman, I think he worked harder and sold Neely a nice 1967 Pinto, automatic, AC, 8-track and all.
The real mystery is will a two-shot wonder program work for Neely?
Neely,
I have had professional interactions with each of your options but currently have no ties with any of them. So maybe I can offer some objective and educated advice.
I would suggest going with:
-Jerry Schumacher (OTC, Portland)
The resources of Nike and the class and expertise of Schumacher are a hands down winner.
Nike has the most resources here in America of any of the sponsors, and Jerry is a class person, who knows his stuff and always puts his athletes first.
You can't go wrong with that choice. I can imagine problems that may arise with any other scenario, I can not think of one if you go with that combo. So start your pro-career off with the most positive situation you can and head to Portland to work with Jerry and Nike.

Ummm... what happened?
I thought there was an announcement coming.....................
The SuSpence continues... here is the final tally.
Neely,
Best of luck in your decision. But if whatever choice you make doesn't work out here is another consideration:
Best,

A new blog on the frustrating, yet part-of-the-game, inside scoop on the process of signing a pro contract. No announcement yet, I have been asked to refrain from announcing it publicly until next week :( Please read my blog, accept my apology, and continue riding with me on this journey.

whollistic? really?
Lame. This has gone on way too long.
It is best to keep your mouth shut until you actually know facts. This whole thing is getting ridiculous
In case you haven't anticipated it, be prepared for bitterness and anonymous attacks from at least one group you didn't pick. This one group in particular is infamous for troll attacking those they don't like or are mad at here on LetsRun. Just take it as confirmation that not picking them was the right choice.
So you'll do us all a big favor and tell us who that group is after she announces? What if she is with that group? What then?
Best of luck in your pro career. Based on your blog post, "I will be under the wings of greatness," I'm guessing it's going to be either:
Oregon Project/Salazar - quote refers to Alberto
OTC/Schumacher - quote refers to Flanagan/Goucher
Either one seems like an excellent choice.
Where is the final tally? There's nothing there.
Just remember the same shoe company who jerks you around to start with will jerk you around later.
PRO doesn't necessarily mean working as an athlete for a shoe company. Professional means how you do what you do.
Never forget your running belongs to you.....
Never forget your character. Oh, and best of luck Lisa too!
