Agreed. Donesky. Too many Badger Miles.

And how about Shalane and Kara?!? Better hope they don't get run in to the ground, too. Seems like they're headed that way.
since he had a screw or an anchor replaced, hard to tell. might take at least a year or so to recover or longer. who knows but it's too bad for a talented runner like him. best wishes to him.

So has anyone come back from this kind of surgery - having your hamstring reattached - and run at the same level as before?

Of course I don't "hate" him--
You have a bizarre fixation on the guy. He was running injured last season and it didn't turn out well for him. He even admits he was trying to do too much.

Not that it's what ultimately did him in, but it's a shame he got pulled into that 10,000 last year in Oregon to "defend" his AR when his hamstring wasn't 100%. His coach should've known better.
Come on now.
Running 3000 at your 10000 pace, or whatever he did before pulling out, is not going to injure someone who has a chance at training for the top level.

Why in the hell is Solinsky not running the 10k? 26:59 PR and he is running the 5k at the trials? WHY? Someone explain it to me.
Maybe because he is also the 2nd fastest American at 5000 as well and he's coming off an injury?????

I know, that was really presumptuous and an unfortunate thing to have said. Never say never, right?
Of course I hope I'm wrong. There would be nobody more deserving than she, even if she does allow herself the indulgences of nails and spray-tanning--2 things that I find terribly alienating.
Go Fawn!
He paced the payton jordan, I was there and he never planned on finishing it fyi. He spoke to jerry before the race and it was announced on the line that he was a rabbit. Some of you guys think you know what its like being this caliber of athlete (26:59). He knows his body better than anyone especially after dealing with a serious injury like this. All I can say is starting posts like this doesn't help american distance running in anyway, it simply fuels the fire for a bunch of running nerds.

I never saw this until now, but he ran that race with a "hitch" in his hamstring. He entered to defend his title because he thought Rupp was running. Don't you remember the infamous "ploy" comment and the fact that he said that his hamstring wasn't 100% in the FloTrack interview afterwards? He said he dropped because something didn't feel right. He had no business being in that race.
I like Solinsky. I hope he kicks some ass in the future, but he needs to be smart. Skipping 2012 competition is smart. A major injury is a hard thing to come back from and he needs to baby it or he will most certainly get injured again. Titanium screws to reattach three muscles in his hamstring? You "Come on now." He'll be lucky not to develop some sort of muscle imbalance.
