This young lady takes 2nd in the women's 5k and 3k ( same a Derrick ) but the boards are all about Derrick, Hassey, ect.... Let's give her some props. Not the High school ht shot as the others but look at her now!

Deborah Maier is incredible, her composure is awesome. Looking forward to the outdoor season. Golden CAL Gal!
the love is right here. i am hopelessly in love with her. *swoon*
Congrats to Deborah on two great races. Ran really well in both. Great meet. She deserves to be mentioned amongst the best.
Fantastic runs for her. I am really curious to see how she fares in the 10000 down the road.
Her name is boring and nobody knows too much about her,she needs a nickname or something to make her stick out.
I graduated from high school before she was born. Damn I feel old.
Ms Silver :-)
she is having a breakout year.
You're exactly right. Maier was sensational but......she is not the commom name to a HASAY or a DERRICK when it comes to running. Hasay and Derrick have been doing it for years since junior high school and deserve the attention and recognition, particularly HASAY who has been a houshold name since she was in seventh grade. Just wiki Jordan Hasay.
Maier? Maybe deserving of some attention this past year. But, when Maier can come even CLOSE....CLOSE to what HASAY and DERRICK have achieved, then I think we can cannonize Ms. Maier. Until then, Debra Maier is a great runner......................... with a long way to go.

Did you really know about Derrick since junior high school? I'm calling shenanigans since its known he couldn't even do 3 miles in under 18:00 in his freshman year of high school. He is in the same boat as Maier, not Hasay.
No one has a resume comparable to Hasay, that's all I know. She's queen bee, and beyond. Derrick? I'd have to investigate.
I think Maier is phenomenal but I always forget to root for her. She's essentially an underdog but doesn't have any sort of underdog vibe to her. Whereas with Hasay, you want to bubble wrap her, keep her safe and tell her unicorns still exist.
Jordan Hasay is great but Deb Maier has been handling her all indoor season. Deb is making a jump up in fitness, Hasay has leveled off. Deb also seems to be a late-bloomer comparitively, and this is a great thing as she may have more upside than the whole lot of early start phenoms and end up being one of the very best distance runners the US has ever produced when all is said and done.
Who has a bigger upside, Maier or Hasay?
I say Maier. Hsaay is played out.
Her hometown is naming a street in her honor, based on her performances this weekend.
It will be known as "Second" Street.
2nd street and 2nd Ave?
Hasay is a young 20 year old junior who hasn't even come close to peaking age wise. If she were the same age as a Reid, Van Dalen, Maier, or an Infeld - I would call it a draw. BUT, based on her race results at this young age, she's "far ahead" of these girls at her 20 year old stage development compared to these other girls at that same age. And to top it off, she's already beaten them all..... more than once.
Simply stated, Jordan Hasay is amazing, going at it since the age of 12? Setting road race records, improving times every year, brandishing the harsh criticism when she doesn't perform, coming back to perform, et al. She's endured it all.
All of you track geeks who have been following the sport must admit.....Jordan has set the bar way up high for everyone to follow. Wow....what a legacy, what a champion.
The sport of running thanks you Jordan Hasay.
