Scott never really had an off season in the 11 years he was world ranked. You could always count on Scott to post a 3:50 at least once a year during his prime. He is so far ahead of Webb in respect that there really is no comparison.

Actually Traveler is right, times are slower, look at this link for all time 1500 list....

The fastest non doped time since 2005 was Daniel Komen, fastest time since 2008 was Silas kiplagat, and look how far they are down on the list... Is it because meet promoters aren't having the rabbits go out in 1:50 like when Lagat and el G both ran that 3:26 race in 2001?
No one follows the rabbit if they hit 1:50 - 1:51 these days. The top athletes request the rabbit pace... it is not the promoters. El G was willing to follow a really fast rabbit because a long kick off of a fast 1000 was his cup of tea. No one since (or before) has mastered that quite as well as El G.
Silas Kiplagat will run 3:45 (1 mile) or faster this year. Mark my words.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
