Yes, her name is Sue.
I have to agree with those who say that there has to be more to the story. He says he is equal or better than ths star, but is he equal every day, or just on certain days? Is he equal in practice, but unable to perform when in a meet?
I also agree that he did not handle well the time when he was injured. There needed to be communication with the coach from the start. Otherwise, the coach is going to have some difficulty with your story.
Further, if he had been in constant communication with the coach, he would have known about the mandatory fundraiser. That is on him, not the coach. The coach is not under obligation to ensure that every kid gets every bit of information.
Even further, the kid has shown that he views track as an individual sport instead of a team sport. Team sports require attendance at all team events. This includes practices and fundraisers. To disappear for two weeks is an insult to teammates. Just imagine a football or basketball player just not attending for two weeks. His butt would be sent home even quicker than that.

Track is an individual sport, so the kid can ignore the highschool tin pot dictators and do Junior Oympic track in the summer, run open college races 8ks (what McDougal did in highschool), still go to Footlocker if he's good enough, US Jr. XC and track, etc.
So you keep up with the star during tempos? Are you racing the star in practice? Do you beat the star in races?
What you think you are capable of and what you can do are not the same.
You put yourself in this situation, first by running on NSAIDs while you knew you were hurt and making it an injury, and second by not staying in contact with the team.
You need to stop your ego trip, apologize, and start listening to your coach.
McDougal is a great example of defying shitty coaching, Rupp rarely ever did his coaches workouts either throughout highschool.
Agree with o.O
You should sacrifice it all and move to a cabin in the woods and just train. get yourself into the best shape of your life and your only human contact should be a sole trusted advisor. While youre out there, grow your hair out and dont shave. Enter a race at your home track under an assumed name representing a different school. It may take the fans a few laps, but they undoubtly recognize you and chant your name while you blast down the final home stretch.
High school coaches are in a position of power. Although some high school coaches can be legitimate jerks, high school athletes have to understand and respect the power structure.
Even if you disagree with your coach, respectfully apologize and concede that you were wrong. Seriously, beg for forgiveness.
Also, try to explain your love of running and how much it means to you to be able to compete. It's likely that your coach enjoys the sport and would feel bad about denying you the opportunity to compete.
If an apology does not work, go to a higher authority, whether it's the principal or AD, and explain the situation. They might be able to mediate the dispute and get you back on the team.
I think it's beyond apologizing to the coach, as the coach already kicked him off the team. And we don't know what for. Based on the story, the coach is a bully. Obviously we know the OP was hurt, and we don't even know him like the coach does in person. To kick him off the team for that is absurd.
My advice is to talk with your parents, and have them talk with the principal. If you really want to run on the team, there need to be some guidelines set so that an adult coach is not abusing the young people on the team.
Here is one of munkypoo's earlier post on 1/9/12. Would you kick him off the team?
As of today January 9th, 2012 Alan Webb has announced in oregon that he will not be competing in the 2012 olympics due to loss of hair, and his big slong not allowing him to extend his stride to its max potential. In further news Alan Webb will be joining the Bang Bros Bus and starting a new career in the fudgepacking industry. Please be fully aware that you have been trolled. Misleading titles are great, BAMA anyone? Let the raging begin.
have to respect the power structure? "have to"?
what? what? what?
if you understand the power structure, why would you respect it?
if you disagree, apologize? that you were wrong?
what????
mannnnnn....
I should of worded that better
====================================
It might also help to learn better English.
It is "should have" and not "should of".
"I should have"... or (slang) I shoulda
Not "should of"!!!
Man, it drives me nuts when I hear "should of"! Of?? Of what???!!!

Don't fall for the old "you need orthotics" trick.
LOL there are so many holes in this story its ridiculous. You all have been trolled , but it was entertaining. Next time I'll write about how I got expelled for having an orgasm at practice.

While you're at it, try to learn some real English. America is for English speaking Americans. Not Pidgin-English.
"its" should be "it's" or "it is"
"should of" should be "should have"
Here in America, even trolls learn to speak, read, and write proper English. You might have to the D-League for trolls to improve yourself.

The trolls lately keep showing their hands so early. You could have easily turned this into a decent trolling. People were quite angry at you and emotionally invested. Disappointing.

Additionally factoring in his name, I've got the over/under at 18.
-1/10
i hate you.
You've already gotten some good advice, whether a troll or not.
For the rest of you, don't assume there has to be more to the story. We've had experience with a couple of coaches who acted like this. The coach's ego might be threatened if some young upstart can come in and beat his older kids whom HE HAS BEEN TRAINING. To an insecure person, that says "Your coaching can't be very good if this undertrained freshman punk can beat your star varsity guy." We've seen it happen. Also, coaches like things to be neat and orderly, and it's easier if the older kids are better. My daugher's coach went ballistic when as a freshman she beat the team captains by 2 minutes in the first cross country race. "You can't let a freshman lead this team!" he screamed like a lunatic.
I think I just peed myself laughing.
