Centro is a great racer, natural instincts great kick and good timing, but 3:46 is moving, and being a good racer, does not mean he has that kinda time in him.

He's no longer an amateur or competing for Oregon.
He's no longer an "amateur" making money for the NCAA.

But he is still in college? So he still have the best college time? That must be weird for the guy that got the record.
Great weekend for the mile. 5 sub 4's at a comparitively low key meet in Boston.
This is the best American born miler since Jim Spivey. A sub 3:50 mile is on the way including a strong showing in the upcoming Olympic finals. Lagat, Centrowitz, Lamong, and maybe Webb, give the US a potent 1500 presence.
How in the world does Webb get on a potentially potent US 1500 list before Manzano or Wheating?
Wheating had a horrible year in 2011. Manazano did not make the finals so 2011 was also a write off for him.
Folks, give the guy more credit. It was a 3:53.92 mile!!!
Right now, he is easily the best US 1500 meter runner.
America could use another sub 3:50 miler.
What is Wheating up to? Will he compete indoors at all?

Micheal Phelps went to college but wasn't NCAA eligible. He has no college records.
Wheating's "horrible" year consisted of him qualifying for WC's with a faster time than Centrowitz. Actually beat him head to head in that race.
Manzano made the team, ran 3:33 and made WC semis and also won a GP mile in 3:50 in London.
Yet Webb gets mentioned before them when looking at 2012 poetential?
What was horrible about Wheating's season was that he was hurt and barely did qualify for WCs when he ran in lanes two and three for the whole US Championship race -- and then made the same mistake at WCs.
If he has been healthy, I would expect him to qualify easily this year -- and hopefully find a way to avoid sprinting around the last couple of curves in lane two in big races.
Upon further review, this was an incredibly badass race from Centro. He displays a tactical genius that, when coupled with the kind of fitness I expect him to have in August, will make him a serious contender for the gold.
Good race for Centro. Until he wags his finger, turns his head around, all while running 3:31for the 1500 I'm not sure I will call him a favorite vs. Kenyans http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppSIb0Rn3HM
