True, it went out slowly. However,
- Centro didn't just look good & comfortable, he looked absolutely effortless. One has to figure the he could do a great deal more, even from a significantly faster opening pace.
- Most of the situations where he'll be competing with the world's best will be championship meets, where a slow opening half is the norm.
I think that at 3:46.xx, as some posters above have mentioned, would not be out of the question in a couple of years. I'm certain we have yet to see the best he can do in terms of time.
