Ok, you think he's gonna try to bust an AR at the trials? Nope, its about being tactical. If solinsky wants an AR, he's gonna have to mix it up in some of the lower profile races where place is not as important.

Well of course. Im just saying there is such a deep field at the 10000m trials I wouldn't be so sure he'll make it out.
Outdoors in peak condition he would have been below 8:05.
Yeah. Having surgery on a hamstring and recovering from it is always the most optimal way to train for the trials.

Is there a video of the race?

8:09 off current 3:57 "speed" means insane strength, aerobic & threshold fitness.
I agree he has insane strength and fitness, but that's a big over the top. His current speed is not 3:57. That's the time he ran in a race where he had to leap over his teammate, whom he kept looking back for multiple times until he caught up, on a pace that lagged. Rupp was probably good for a mid-high 3:55 that day, which was his rust buster preparing for this race. If it was the other way around, he'd probably go 3:54. He's not THAT crazy that he's only 3:57 shape and averaging just under 4:05 for 2 miles. He's awesome but not that awesome lol.
Bekele 8:04.35 WR 2008
Rupp 8:09.72 AR 2012

You won't be able to see his face because it will be hidden by the mask, duh.
Pretty interesting to see Lagat take Rupp's 5K AR and Rupp take Lagat's 2 mile AR on the same day.
That's what track is all about.
Matched competitors doing different races on the same day instead of racing each other.
he is terrified of lagat, watch the last 20s.

Holy cripes! Didn't realize he was so close to Bekele's WR. Give it some time - only 5 seconds over 8 laps... that's nothing. Go GR!

What? 5+ secs is quite a ways back.
Remember that time, everyone on letsrun said that Rupp would NOT run under 8:10. Good call idiots, your negativity is really helping the sport
there's no way he's going to keep this form up, he'll burn out before the trails.
No it was more like 50/50, but LR posters are definitely skewed anti-Rupp, for reasons mentioned ad nauseam on other threads.
"Rupp is done" "german is done" "webb is done". Anyone that takes this website seriously is an idiot.

No, I don't. Neither do you, because this simply didn't happen.
I was at the race, how he ran it was the most impressive part. 407-8 opening mile then he ran 401 completely Solo...

So do I take this comment seriously?
