To be really honest with you, I don't know you and I don't know "the Jogger" but you come off worse by telling the story in the manner that you did than he does.

I was in the middle of my long run (6:30/pace) today in a local park. I came up on another runner's shoulder (he was probably going 7:30/pace). The moment I was on his left, he completely switched gears and struggled to make sure I didn't pass him.
I got a little frustrated and took it as an indirect challenge at each other's pride. so I clipped off a 5:45 mile and dropped him.
What do you call a person like this? That won't let you pass him in the middle of a regular distance run.
