ABSHERO is gone. He was world junior XC champion in 2009 (Amman).
Yeah, he just turned 21 and this is his first marathon, I believe. Is that right?

pretty sure these dudes are the race directors leading the race
Walkers in the background. Good to know it's not just an American thing.
Yes it's his marathon debut
He ran 59:40 for HM and 13:11 for 5000m at age 19.

Ok, but they don't usully talk to the runners.
8:31 from 39 to 42....
Is that the fastest ever legal debut (take away Mosop at Boston)?
WTF, the live stream focused on the crowd after Abshero and all you saw was a few people crossing the finish line with no times or names. Plus, the commentators kept saying Markos Geneti was in the lead when it was freaking obvious that Abshero (look at his bib!!) was in the lead.
I wish we could get gun to tape coverage of marathons like that in the U.S. That's what I call coverage! Just needed clock and split times and it would have been a dream.
Fastest debut on a record-eligble course in history!!!
6th fastest time ever.
ABS-HERO. Well, abs or no abs, that's going to be somebody's marathon hero.
Is that the deepest marathon ever?
Top 10 under 2:06:29!
Sweet jeebus that's fast!
Hall's gonna need his A game to break top 10 or maybe 15 in London.
And I thought Larry Rawlson was bad! These Arab commentators are still saying that Markos Geneti won the marathon and set a new event record.
Ramaala just finished in 2:12:20.

Maybe not, only 3 Kenyans and 3 Ethiopians in the Olympics. No doubt that race will have less depth than many these days.
