Thanks, with that definition of "average talented runner" (essentially top 1% of runners), I agree that an average talented runner can run a sub3 on 50 MPW. Just being realistic for the OP that he does not fit the definition of average talented runner -- 3:25 on 25 MPW while commendable is not top 1%. The OP should be running up 60-70 MPW if he/she wants to break 3.
