Are you kidding me? That guy was incredible. He won the world XC title and nearly every big road race he entered. he may be looked down upon these days, but back in the day, he was the king.

Bother is not the right word.
I would prefer my wife to have not slept with anyone previously.
Indifference is understandable but surely no one here actually prefers their gf/future wife to have already lost there virginity.
I prefer that they not be virgins.
Freelove why if you don't mind me asking?

Who the hell wants to have sex w/ an amateur? I've slept with virgins - its awful. They do not know what they are doing.
You want somebody who WANTS to be there, and knows what she wants.
If the guy is one too then you both don't know what your doing.
Then it would be no problem.
I guess if your no longer a virgin then I could understand your perspective.
these 1964 song lyrics may help define thoughts of the era
Don't let your love go astray,
Save it for me
Don't give your sweet kiss away,
Save it for me
I know you're feeling blue,
'Cause I feel blue like you.
I'll be strong as you
Are and wait just as long as you
Don't waste that look I adore
Save it for me
Just wait a little bit more
Save it for me
I know that you must cry:
Cry, baby, so do I.
Just sit tight
And leave on your light
'Cause I'm coming home to your arms,
Oh baby,
I'm coming home to your arms.
Save it for me
Save it for me
I know that you must cry:
Cry, baby, so do I.
I'll be strong as you
Are and wait just as long as you
Save it for me
Save it for me
Save it for me

It seems virginity was to be saved for someone who truely loves you...and you should give it to them before puberty forces them to sing everything falsetto.
Even the 1964era Brits sang about giving it up to someone who loves you.
Someone(loves you),
Someone(loves you),
Someone who really loves you,(Someone)
When Someone really loves you(Someone)
That's when your life begins
That's when your life begins
That's when your life begins
I always like to look down on virgins
Somebody has to do it
Not because it's bad, but because you have to deal with them realizing that life isn't a Disney movie, their whole world hasn't changed, having sex hasn't changed them as a person, etc. It's nice if they've already figured that out. Plus I don't think many people are still virgins in their 20s, and the ones who are usually have some kind of issue.
Who cares I've jerked off to hotter Internet porn and seen hotter women than 99.999% of humanity throughout history ever has! Thank you internet!

I haven't read this whole thread, but the fact that this line was ever even considered is the whole effing problem with our society (and yes, that's right - the whole problem).
"Considering I've indulged myself, I think it would be unfair to expect a woman not to."
Gee, really? Because of all those women with whom you've "indulged yourself"? You think it would be "unfair" to condescend to your sex partners as cheap sluts? Were you thinking, "Geez. This woman is such a whore. But wait...I'm having sex with her - right. now. So, because it's me, and considering how I just indulged myself not an hour ago with someone else, it might be a little unfair to judge this woman." Wow, so enlightened. Way to go, nutface.
Quit being so generous. With the critical thinking skills he has shown us thus far, he probably never graduated HS.
1) "Too" religious? Define "too." Where is the line between "too religious," "religious enough," and "not religious enough?" Because by saying "too religious" you are implying that all 3 exist, and that there is a moderate level of being religious which should exist. You go on to bash religion (ok, 1/10, you got a response from me), which then leads one to think that you are against all religion. So your label should have been "religious," if this is what you meant, not "too religious." But then again, your thoughts are all over f*cking everywhere and disorganized like a 6th grader trying to write a paper, so who really knows what you think.
4) Again, you aren't clear with your stance on the issue. First you say that getting AIDS/STDs is a "legitimate fear," and then you continue to say that people should take the risk anyway and they "need some perspective." But hey, only like half (or more) of teens/people in their early 20s have STDs these days, so why not take the risk of getting one if you can get a few minutes of pleasure out of it, right?
You said "This is another red flag that things are off." But you never specified what "this" is. Is "this" the fear of pregnancy or STDs? I think about 99% of people who aren't married or who don't want kids would have that fear. With the first 3, you started with "You are..." which immediately conveyed the trait of the person that you were going to criticize. But with 4 you just stated "fear of pregnancy and STDs." So unless you are saying we shouldn't be afriad of STDs, then I am not sure what you're talking about.
And, one last thing...you said "After a certain age, yes there is something wrong with being a virgin."
---Why are you so concerned with what other people do in their bedrooms?
You're an adult and can't convey your thougts and opinions in a clear and precise manner?
I've never been with a virgin. Thank goodness--I don't think I could stand the responsibility.
But is virginity "looked down upon"? Mostly not, I'd say. It's hard for me to see why anyone would care about another's virginity (or not)--unless maybe one was looking at the other as a potential partner...
