I recognized that grody-ass Wayne State hat. He was wearing the same one when he went past me at Chicago in 2010. That's a lot of gross in one hat.
This is the funniest message board in the history of the internet. I am never watching TV again.
I am laughing tears!

No, it should read: Meb to Ryan... "Look, is it a bird? a plane?
Ryan to Meb: "No silly, it's God..."

But Shalane looks good in compression socks. Meb, not so much.

Those are 3 fine looking women. It just goes to show that if a woman wants to look good, forget all the botox, fake boobs and crap and get out on the road and run.
Wasn't Paula wearing these for (one of her) world record(s).
Cannot be too bad...

They are thanking Jesus and waving the flag because JC obviously picked them to run 1,2 (and Abdi 3rd who also thanked Jesus).
Why are they thanking my landscape dude?

Great shot with the contrasting emotions. I would crop it into a vertical shot just with Ritz, Hall, and Meb to focus it a bit.
Funny, the next day the front page of the Houston Chronicle Sports Section had a photo exactly as you describe above. A very emotional photo.
I went downtown to watch the trials, saw Meb/Ryan/Abdi start to gap Ritz and thought that was the writing on the wall, but when they came back around 7 miles later, 3/4 miles from the finish, Ritz was still hanging very tough. I was screaming for him to try to catch the fading Abdi, but he just couldn't. By the way it's not that I don't like Abdi, I was just trying to help the guy who was behind and trying to close.

I was there as well and pushed the video recording on my iPhone to capture Meb, Ryan, Abdi....and Ritz cross the 26 mile mat. Holding the phone in one hand and taking pictures with my camera with the other. Very exciting to watch. Agree, rooting for Ritz to catch up...
