Great run for Clara Grandt. She backed up her 2:29:54 at Boston with a 2:30:46 for 7th place.
Just because you put it in bold doesn't make it right. I watched the race. The leaders were going hard from the start. The top 5 were not going to let anyone go off the front. End of story. You were wrong the first time, and you are still wrong.
So will there be a video available online after the tv broadcast for those of us who don't have tv? Or will they stream the broadcast online somewhere?

How many low 2:09s is this for Meb? He's got this thing pegged!
There's today's 2:09:08, of course, and then there are these 2:09s:
952 2:09:13 Mebrahtom Keflezighi USA 05.05.75 6 New York City 06.11.2011
970 2:09:15 Mebrahtom Keflezighi USA 05.05.75 1 New York City 01.11.2009
1031 2:09:21 Mebrahtom Keflezighi USA 05.05.75 9 London 26.04.2009
1094 2:09:26a Mebrahtom Keflezighi USA 05.05.75 5 Boston 19.04.2010
1420 2:09:53 Mebrahtom Keflezighi USA 05.05.75 2 New York City 07.11.2004
1458 2:09:56 Mebrahtom Keflezighi USA 05.05.75 3 New York City 06.11.2005
1458 2:09:56a Mebrahtom Keflezighi USA 05.05.75 3 Boston 17.04.2006
There was also a 2:10:03 at Chicago 2003, good for 7th.
This makes eight 2:09s for Meb, with an Olympic silver medal, a win at New York, and a handful of podium finishes at major marathons to show for it. He's certainly fantastic at running races to win or medal. I'm not sure if he would've run much faster than 2:09 on a fast, rabbited course, but he has remarkable longevity and consistency at one of the most unpredictable events in any sport.
When were they going hard?
That 11:40 first 2 miles or the pedestrian 1:13:30 at halfway...or wait, maybe when they continued to run in the 5:30's until nearly the 20 mile mark?
She lost because she claimed 2:22 shape but ran 2:27-:28 pace for most of the race, shortened the 'real' race to 6 to 7 miles and was run away from by someone with track speed and a 7 minute slower PR going into the race.
I was right and continue to be right.
Have you run this course? No, I didn't think so. Keep trying, but don't hurt yourself. You weren't here. End of story. No one was going to let her go. Too tough of a concept for you??
How exactly would they 'not have let anyone go off the front'? Trip them?
She could have run whatever pace she chose to.
Sure have, but nice try.
Um, is too tough of a concept for you to grasp that if you are capable of running the fastest pace you will eventually drop the rest of the field as they will not be able to keep up at some point, no matter how badly they try to not let you go.
Is that simple enough for you?

I really didn't just read that, did I? Good grief.

Very impressive run for Grabow! I had no idea who he was, either. A quick Google search turned this up:

Nope, you are wrong. Too much at stake to try and break everybody yourself. As long as the pace was solid, which it was, there was no need to try and run 2:22 pace with nothing to gain but a little money and bragging rights.
The Olympic marathon itself will tell the better runner, not a qualifying race.
I am really impressed by all the guys who stuck it out and ran 2:11/2:12. Some really impressive races to back up their prior performances.
