Any word on how "our" JAG finished?

Clara Horowitz Peterson was 16th in 2:35 in her marathon debut. This is 8 months after she gave birth to her second child.
If you go to the mile by mile split page of the USATF site, the very first column, fittingly, is "POS".
Patti, she just texted me - 2:37:xx and 20 something place.

Was Desi not running for the win?
She left herself a very slim(I would say virtually no) chance by letting everyone hang around.
Why she let it be so (relatively speaking) slow for so long and then never made a move is beyond me. I am a big fan but that is 2 trials in a row that her 'coaching' or decision making has let her down.
Goal is to make the team.
Really? That was not the stated goal.
Why not just sit back and outkick Hastings if that was true?
You can still be a fan and wonder why someone did something that didn't work. Especially when it should have been clear pre-race that it was not likely to work.
where are full results? i'm dying to see how a couple people ran.

Maybe, just maybe she gave what she had.

I agree that Ryan doesn't really care what ANYONE thinks about him. It has probably helped his success even. But why am I an idiot? I wasn't bashing the guy.
I think I was agreeing with you not bashing you. I responded to your thread about other people doing the bashing. Sorry for the mix up.
That is what it looked like at the end. Clearly not my point. You don't win many races do you?

Go peddle this bullcrap somewhere else. No one gives up the win at the trials, or any other major marathon, to play it safe. No one. Any one who has ever watched her run, and I did today, knows she runs with a lot of guts. You don't just turn that off the last mile. Well, maybe you do but good runners don't.
The secret is out as to who made the team, and it's doubtful NBC will show tape of anyone finishing outside the top ten in either race, so why would they ask USATF to not post the full results?

NBC just wants you to watch their taped coverage to see the full results. We probably won't get full results until the broadcast is over.
calling it now, every listen up

I agree with you abot the last mile. I don't remember anybody saying she just turned off that last mile. Somebody asked why she didn't push harder, earlier. There is a HUGE difference in this race between "giving up the win" and not risking it all (qualifying) just to have a chance to win. With at least 4 women in the hunt until late in the race, there might have been an ever-so-slight reluctance to push too hard miles 18-24'ish and risk missing the top three.
If you're there near the end, of course you're going all-out. However, A chance at the win is not worth risking 4th in this race, imo.
All of us are speculating though. Hopefully post-race interviews will shed some light on this topic.
cabada PRs in 2:11, nice. carney with a huge PR to 2:12, very solid.
nice run for carlson, was this his debut?
who the hell is jimmy grabow running 2:12!

That is the point, she let 3 others stay in contention way too long and let it become a test of speed. She essentially left it to chance at the end.
She would have tipped the odds in her favor by keeping the pace honest from the start and grinding away those 5:20'something splits way earlier.
If you believe you are the fittest you should make the race about fitness. If someone hangs around, more power to them. If you run less than your best and get beat it is on you and your 'coaches'
Ryan Vail, great debut!!!
25, no team and hits a 2.12!
Why the hell has this guy not been signed he's got so much upside it's ridiculous!! Surely he should be on a team and sponsored when you look at all the guys he put away behind him. Definitely a great shout for 2016!!
