Moron. You have run ONE MILE (likely on a track) at that pace. It was probably a strung out, time trial type race for where you were dragged to your PR or were able to run in clear air. Galen, on the other hand, runs for SIX (PLUS) MILES, not always on a track, in a pack of 10-15 Kenyans and Ethiopians who are equal to or better than his WORLD CLASS ABILITY. It's not hard for most of us to run at 4:30 pace for a mile you dunce. Try to do it for 6 in a tight pack of ultra talented dudes trying to steal your paychecks from you and let me know how steady your legs are. He is not even close to the only guy who has had multiple falls. And he still has a ton of titles. It happens. Idiot.
Moron. I wasn't talking about him falling in track races. I was talking about him falling in a Half Marathon. Seeing as it is in the subject line of the thread, and it is not a very common occurrence, I noted the fact that Rupp seems to make silly mistakes like this often. Losing a shoe in XC or in a rainy race is unlucky. Losing a shoe in a championship race in dry conditions is clumsy. I'm not criticizing him; I'm just pointing something out--definitely something it seems he could work on (mental focus/preparation). I want him to succeed and win medals and become the best American distance runner ever (and I think he can), but that's not going to happen if he continues to make these mistakes.
I'm not even going to get into the fact that you are bringing up my running in your post. I could tell you I have run multiple miles at that pace in a row in races and in workouts, but I'll keep myself out of this thread because it isn't remotely about me. The fact that you couldn't create an argument without attacking an anonymous poster just makes your response weak and worthless.
Good day.
