I admit that people often call me lazy. I don't understand why but I'm getting really tired from all this typing and I need a little break...yawn...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz.

I can't stand when people check their mailboxes from their cars. Some of my neighbors have 30 foot driveways, and they do this all the time.

I hate it when people drink egg nog straight from the carton and then put it back in the refrigerator. Hello! Other people like egg nog, too, you know!

Coinstar is not a very good example. Lots of banks will not take rolled coins anymore. I worked at a grocery store and first we were told to have the people write their names and phone numbers on the rolls and then we were told not to take them at all. This is because people would actually have a few actual coins on either end and fill the center with non coins. this would not become evident until after we cracked them open. I also do the Amazon certificate so I do not pay anything. It is totally worth it to me.

I teach at a university and I see examples of extreme laziness on a daily basis. The worst examples are probably the students that plagiarize using the first source from a basic google search.

I'm going with 99 weeks of unemployment assistance - I mean come on. I personally know 5 people who admit that they are staying on unemployment until it stops, then they will find work.

I'm not against unemployment insurance, but 99 weeks is insane and counterproductive.

I've had a number of people tell me the same thing. They take it easy until they get close to the day when the spigot is going to be turned off.

This is the essence of the welfare state, subsidizing a lack of productivity. The Democrat Party is based on giving out something for nothing. How do you reconcile your politics with this understanding of human behavior?

My Uncle "Bad" is the laziest man on the planet. Some of the completely ridiculous things I have caught him doing:

1. On Thanksgiving he resorted to drinking his Bloody Mary out of a salad dressing cruet because we ran out of clean glasses and he didn't want to take 30 seconds to wash one.

2. The remote control was lost so instead of getting up to change the TV Channels once or twice (he only watches ESPN or HBO) he resorted to duct-taping 2 meter sticks together with a ruler and then a small toy lego block on the end so he could reach the TV from the couch. This took him about 30 minutes to put together.

3. Instead of getting up once in awhile to replace his beer he resorts to paying my 8 year old cousin FIVE DOLLARS for each trip to the fridge.

4. One day I had him call me from 2 states away to ask me to look up the weather at his zipcode. I asked him where he was and he replied "Home, I just didn't want to go upstairs I am watching the game in my basement and I heard it's supposed to snow. It takes forever to look it up on this GD phone!"

5. He told me in college he used to buy shirts at the Salvation army to avoid doing laundry...and he sometimes still does it. He has a 6 figure salary so I don't see how this is allowed but I guess it is.

6. He also convinced his own mother he had carpal tunnel syndrome so he didn't have to open his own beer bottles (also it forced her to go and get them).

7. Last month he was up visiting and overheard me discussing how I was running to the store. He handed me $100 and said to get a bottle of Gentleman's Jack while I was out. I got back a few hours later and handed it to him but he pushed it back and said "Happy Birthday! And keep the change since I forgot about it last year."

8. I also overheard him asking my grandmother to make him a sandwich for lunch because he had "carpal tunnel" and wasn't allowed to prepare food, according to his doctor. That was 2 years ago. My grandmother still believes he has carpal tunnel...

A lot of times when there is a tight connection you are trying to cut seconds off the time between gates. Then it's especially irritating when people stand on the wrong side.

When I get off the train everyday to go to work there are 3 options to get to the street level: walk up the stairs (probably 60-70 total), walk up the left side of the escalator, or stand on the right side.

I would say about 60% just stand, 30% walk up the escalator, and 10% take the stairs.

Here's another one: Now people won't carry anything to work. They have little suitcases with wheels. Do they really need to bring in so much stuff for 1 day at the office it's more than they can carry in a backpack or briefcase?

The political nonsense - see above - is annoying but perhaps not definitively lazy. I work with numbers and some of the tax/deficit/entitlement debate bothers me because people are too lazy to punch a few figures into a calculator to see that general talking points from both sides don't square with algebra. On the above, I think most reasonable people would agree that 99weeks is a stretch. How many people use all 99weeks I guess would be an important answer to know. Perhaps these folks could get to work rolling coins and diffuse all this controversy.

I am actually flattered. Thank you. I am a democrat, but mostly because I am an anti-republican. I see myself as a moderate not being served by either party. I think someone like Huntsman would be the guy closest to my views, or maybe Bill Clinton.

I believe the most dangerous people in US politics are guys like Santorum, Bachmann, Perry and Bush 2 - I mostly feel that as long we keep them out of power the country will do ok.

My mistake, then, I was just going off my hazy memory. I usually read a post, and only check the author if it grabs me. I do know that I've read posts where your name registered and I thought you made a good point. There also have been posts in which you sounded like a biased defender of Obama and the Democrats.

What is not a good point is thinking that the country will do ok with the same people running the government. We're headed for a European style train wreck (or worse because of the enormity of our economy and debt) if we keep running these nutty deficits. Combine that with the dangerous policy of monetizing the debt along with a continued EXPANSION of government programs like unemployment and we are headed full speed for a cliff.

The laziest thing in our society is probably what gasser just referred to. Most people are too lazy to hear the news and take action to prevent a catastrophe. The later we act, the more it will hurt.

And 3 or those 4 don't have a chance in hell to win the next election, and the other is a long shot, so save your energy on that worry.
