Concordia is supposed to make a decision late this week o0r early next week. Agreed that it will be hard to get someone in that late. They just started the process 4 weeks ago, so with the late start they are getting very close to school starting.

Pigg is not an incumbent!
If UNF can not name the Head Coach to the permanent position from an "Emergnecy Hire" (which is what this is probably considered to be), then Pigg would be technically be the Interim Head Coach. If they have to officially post the position next year, he would at that time be the incumbent. UNF may or may not have to do any of this. But if they do, then those are the technicalities of the process.
Every state / school has different policies to making hires. Just because one school has to "jump through hoops" doesn't mean every other school has to as well. Even public schools in the same state can have differences in how they make hires. It depends on how they categorize the positions.
Russ Peterson to Iowa as jumps/multi's Coach.
Purdue??? They hired two more coaches but no distance coach.
Maybe Purdue is trying to go sprints and jumps in a distance heavy conference
i heard they ran the "job" for 2 days on an internal site called "wings".. just to get by the "rules" and did the 2/3 interviews and hire some time ago........
i'm not sure what this says about the schools,/AD's integrity or professionalism... or if the AD is committed to support the athletes and coaches in having more than an "intramural" program.
the UNF job.. is what i posted on above...

When AD's make track hires the same way they hire football and basketball that's a good thing. It means they are recruiting candidates and seeking out the people they want instead of sitting back and seeing who applies. The people who complain they didn't have a chance really didn't have a chance in the first place. Be glad AD's are now recruiting their track coaches because that means they care enough to do a little leg work.
Where is Nick Lara Going from SOuthern Conn State?
I think Jeff Pigg is a good choice and will exceed the AD's expectation.
But how does the AD know what quality is available if he doesn't allow for phone calls of interest, application or even interviews?
maybe he has hired a lot of track coches, or been an AD at a track power.. etc
Anyway It's done with and I wish them luck…

Who will they hire at Clemson? Georgia? Maryland has hired someone but who? What about Campbell and Tennessee?
How do we get this thread back on the first page?
It is on the front page. It's title is NT.
Also any word on the Wake Forest sprints coach?
Message:
Illinois should hire a more qualified coach with an actual record instead of hiring, once again, a coach with zero experience coaching his own team! Hiring Kennedy last year (a coach with no actual experience other than assisting Santos at Iona) was odd - another hire like this two years in a row proves once again why Illinois is 2nd or 3rd tier in the Big Ten.
Does anyone know WHO recommended Gavin Kennedy for the Mississippi job? I understand he did NOT seek out this position but was recruited by a 3rd party and then, basically, bribed to go to Mississippi.
DOES anyone know who recommended Gavin Kennedy to leave Illinois and go to Ole Miss?
who cares, he left... back to the openings
What are you talking about? He is the Head Coach;

You guys need to stop bashing coaches because AD's don't care to give you a shot! Be mad at the AD for hiring coaches that were recommended to them. Trust me every AD has a list of about 4-5 ppl. Go out and do something to get on that list. Now stop crying and complaining!
Portland State - that appears to still be open. Any word on it?
Has Colorado School of Mines posted their job yet?
Can we have a refreshed list of what is still open. It feels like there are a lot of positions as of yet filled, and it's now August 8th. How many schools will be scrambling to finish their staff, and how will these hires affect some of the schools further down the chain?
Do not look for any big hire at Tennessee. Look for someone who has never coached or has had little or no coaching experience. That's seem to be the trend with the current Director...
As someone new to this can someone tell me if the coaching changes going on this summer our normal or our they excessive?
