Finally someone with some sense and last time I checked Ark is a better program than PSU!

Probably for the same reason she's interviewing these nobody assistant coaches. She wants someone to boss around and doesn't care about being good at distance.

Why would Coach Dennis waste her time bringing a D3 coach on campus? Everyone knows that D3 coaches can barely tie their own shoes...thank god for Velcro!
FSU THROWS- word on street is Dorian Scott starting as soon as he gets back from London.. SDSU job now open.
thank you wrote:

You talkin' to me? I have never before been told that I have sense. Thank you!
However, I'm not sure that Arkansas has performed better than PSU recently. The opportunity is there though. BAS, et al have done a great job and should be proud of what they have accomplished there. The B1G is not a premier sprints conference though. Great, but not premier. If you are a sprints coach, how could you say "NEIN" to the SEC?
Is it true Pigg will be leaving UGA?
when is the unc announcement coming?

His name is thrown out there for EVERY head coaching job that comes up on this board, and yet he has been at GEORGIA for what 4 or 5 years? I will believe it when I see the press release.
I guess if she hires a D3 coach they will never win again...everyone knows that a D3 coach can't coach a D1 runner! Because coaching runners is different at D1than D3, I'm surprised they even let the D3 athletes use the same 400m track!
And how could anyone score fewer points on the track than Chris Neal? OSU didn't even score a point in the 800 on up when they won Big Tens!
Jeff Pigg? Between him, Mike Curcio and Julie Stackhouse they've got the NC2A covered!
I heard Stackhouse is going back to UNF. Since that a$$hole Fetzer put her out last year she's been trying to get back into coaching. No better place than the beaches of Jacksonville!
Anyone know if it is illegal to coach at D1 and D3 school at same time? (both would be part-time assistant)
Yes, he will be the new director of track and field for Univ of North Florida!!!

You are 100% correct. That must be why Al Carius has stayed at North Central for 46 years. He knows that despite 13 nationally championships in XC he wouldn't be able to coach anybody in D1.
I guess Tom Donnelly at Haverford was good enough to Coach Marcus O'Sullivan as a professional, but he wouldn't stand a chance in D1 because he's a D3 coach.
Brian Diemer would be another one who must stay at Calvin year after year because D3 coaches wouldn't have a prayer in D1.
That seems about right.
Any certainty to this Jeff Pigg rumor? Is a UNF guy going to UNC ? This all seems rather speculative. Clue a clueless guy in, please.
Yes...Mark Van Alstyne from North Florida to UNC/Chapel Hill (much higher than 80K/yr)
Yes...Angela Reckart from North Florida to UNC/Chapel Hill (much higher than "free")
Yes...Jeff Pigg from Georgia to North Florida (approx. 45K/yr + bonus)
Both universities are just waiting for the "formal" windows of hiring to be complete (could be awhile for n orth Florida - it isn't even posted yet). Athletes in NC have known for about one week, while N. Florida athletes just heard this week.
Or "Facebook" is incorrect...oh, wait...all athletes must submit their passwords to Facebook...ooops - must info must be wrong....not!!!
Van Alstyne will be making much less than $80,000! Meders was given $220,000 for his 5 assistant coaches and Mark will be top assistant at 60g with no bonuses. UNC was willing to pay for Robert Johnson but when he turned it down and Mick Byrne turned it down they decided to go cheap on XC and track and Field.
Mark is a good coach and my guess is he can have UNC guys in the top 2 at ACC's this fall and top 20 at Nationals. He is a good coach and he will get these guys and girls to run well.
I guess ETSU gave up on this year's track and cross country teams.

stop being a drama queen. They'll announce soon.
I would love to see Julie Stackhouse on any beach !
Rat him out for what? Standing in front of a win gauge? USATF did the same thing when flo-jo broke the WR! Sorry that was uncalled for, but so it what your saying! The coach at Clemson is not getting fired because he yelled at you and your mad. Get over it!
Bob Pollack was stealing money. Like $25k. NOt exactly the same as yelling at some patsy and standing in front of the wind gauge. Allegedly. What race was that exactly? Yeah...that's what I thought. So inconsequential you don't event know what the hell you're talking about. Grow a backbone jellyfish.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
