Just because there is a lot of money doesn;t mean they use it towards the track program for salaries and/or budgets. Sometimes it has the opposite affect at a place like OSU where football/basketball are everything AND THEY HAVE 36 SPORTS.
The Kentucky budget is almost double the Ohio State budget. Just because the athletic depart has money does not mean they share it equally with all sports. The track team at OSU does not even have the top budget in the big 10. Minn, mich, Iowa, wiscosin, and Nebraska all have bigger budgets. Ohio state is still a good job, but it is NOT what everyone makes it out to be. There are assistants in the SEC and BIG TEN that make more than the head coaches at Ohio State. FACT!!!
Vacant Ohio St position is Men only, remember, do thus budget is going to be less than Kentucky (combined men and women program).
Don't get caught up on budgets.
Do get caught up in budget! It is a major part of running a program. And the budgets I was comparing was Ohio States when you add the men and women's together. That does make it comparable and Kentucky has twice as much money plus a band new outdoor track and a better indoor track. The only draw back of the Kentucky job is that you have to recruit out of state.
Lol, Berryhill @ Wyoming?!
Talk about a downgrade! Colorado State underperforms year in and year out.

Kentucky doesn't have twice as much-- their operating budget is <$60,000 more than Ohio State. Both have 2x + the budget of UNC.
http://ope.ed.gov/athletics/GetOneInstitutionData.aspxYeah, Ohio states budget sucks. They never go anywhere in cc and track. All small meets.
You want a real fact. Coach Gary said it was a struggle to spend all the money they got. Chew on that.
This year (indoor and outdoor), just the women went to New Mexico, Arizona, Florida (multiple times), Penn, etc. The men also traveled the country going to California, Washington, Drake, Texas, etc. Whoever is claiming that OSU has a very limited budget is uninformed.
The men took 3 athletes to Cali, 5 to Washington, 16 to Drake, 3 to Texas.
It is a MAC-budget. The women have $70.000 more of budget!
Speak of MAC any movement there? Heard EMU has a job opening? Will a head finally move on to the big time from one of these schools?
Bump. Update on the finalists at Stevens?

Looks like Utica is now looking for a distance position. Perhaps theUtica assistant was hired at Steven's. I guess making 11,000 a year gets old quick.

Hahahah- uh yeah- no one will notice if I skim a little off for the old Wife's Bergdorf tab
Smith is forcing loyal assistant Skip Pickens out. Smith posted Pickens job despite Pickens still being in the hospital for serious health issues. A great way to show you appreciation to a guy that has been loyal since 2002.
