Do you wanna watch J. Brown in action over the mud??? XCountry Meet in Sevilla Spain. It worths every single second of the video.
Great Iowa State program back in those days. What has become of it?
Awesome video.
"Program?" Come on, dude, Iowa State was a glorified travel agency, second only to UTEP a decade earlier.

im talking about current news, those articles are dated 2008 and 2009, its 2011!
Kyle has switched to a former coach so what's the news for Brown?
Sorry I bothered you.
Another great cross country race by Brown was at Gateshead either in 97 or 98 when he wiped the floor with Daniel Komen. I have it on video somewhere i'll try dig it out.
Jon does online coaching here: http://www.runbycommonsense.com/ and lives in Victoria, B.C.
Not much has changed in a the past couple of years. He is shortly to be or just turned master age and will likely, although I am saying this, not him, take some Canadian master records, then relax after that.
The Canadian 40-plus 10k record I think is still Graeme Fell's at 30:07?? or 30:11?? Set at the Vancouver Sun Run. I suspect Jon could destroy that if he really wants to. I don't think he is as big a fan of the marathon, so I would suggest he will take all the shorter records.
I am guessing he may take on an 8k that happens in early January in Victoria - a popular race. It is a faster course, but not flat and has an open record of 22:58 or something by Carey Nelson.
Other than that, yes, he is coaching Simon Whitfield in the running portion and other runners and triathletes.

Brilliant viewing. Looked absolutely brutal.
You're so out of the loop Wetcoast. Jon is Simon's main coach. I don't think he coaches runners at all actually. The main group he had is gonzo.
Feel free to email me anytime and I will be glad to get you up to date.
Up to date on what? You're out of the loop. Your interviews are from years ago and the pih chat board isn't going to keep you up to date with the current gossip. You regularly run with them? Trained by Jon? You "know" because you're know all of the action in Victoria, eh? Sorry to burst that huge ego. Adam Campbell maybe the only runner he's "coaching" as far as I know. He's Simon's main coach, period.
so what u are saying is Simon and Kyle split as training partners and Brown is still coaching Simon and Joel F. is now, again, coaching Kyle or are u and wetcoast both out of the loop? Either way this would be a good move by Kyle!!
Yup, Kyle went with Joel.. so did Sweetland which I think is also a good move. Sweetland has had a number of coaches (including Jon before she moved back to Aus) in a short amount of time. Kyle has always been in Simon's shadow so it's good to make that break.
Aha! This seems to be an explanation as to why Simon is now getting his a** handed to him by the Brownlees.
Jon's on Twitter at @jon_brown if you want to follow him... David

Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
