Nathan Waitz (3rd at Footlocker) to NAU. Highest rated recruit in the history of NAU. Hard to believe with names like Lopez Lamong, David McNeill, and Diego Estrada.

very nice recruit. Is Futsum still considering NAU? That would be a nice 1-2 punch for the Lumberjacks. They will need to reload as Diego Estrada is leaving. They've had a long run of very talented runners since Lopez Lamong. Hope they can continue with these new younger kids.

Mike Marsella (RI), 19th at NXN and 2nd at Millrose Mile, going to UVA. He was in a similar position as Connor Rog, as Marsella was also contemplating UNC but followed Coach Watson to UVA. Apparently Rog wrote a long email to Marsella to help convince Marsella to go to UVA...

Wow, how does this happen? What a joke. The NAIA is a dying organization. How many top teams have left in the last six years? One of the top five runners from the state of California chooses a team that only had one girl break 19-minutes at NAIA Nationals (and they were a top-10 team at nationals with only one girl under 19). Seems like one of the most bizarre choices and a waste of talent.

Agreed! Frankian is one of the most successful runners in California, sucks to see her waste that talent at a crappy NAIA school and program. Who chooses Masters over SB, Cal Poly or Arizona State? Truth is, no one would.

obviously she did not chose her school based on the running program.

there may be an academic program that the school has an excellent program in that the schools with better running programs dont.

she could have a boyfriend who goes there.

countless possibilities, we can only speculate, i am sure frankian has her reasons.

Any words on where all the other Saugus girls are going? Jauregui, McCall's, McCarty?

Well, McNeill is from where(?), and ditto the other two. That ranking is probably the FL-type ranking and all three had non-typical routes to schools.

I think she wanted to go to UCSB, but her Dad wanted Masters.

Its great to see him back this indoor season. Too talented to see him miss his senior year.

That being said, do you know what his injuries were this season? Hamstring in the fall (allegedly from another forum) and foot in the winter? (one of the Boston area newspapers)
