Very sad to read about this happening, especially to someone deeply involved in an industry where perfect looks are important.
What really sucks is that this shouldn't have even happened. I blame the pilot. what idiot lets someone off a plane with the propellers still spinning??
She'll still be beautiful. She lost her left hand and half of her face was sliced up.

I've probably gotten out of dozens of prop planes with the props still going.
I've walked into them zero times. Mostly because they make an incredibly loud noise and are located in a fixed position at the front of the plane, and I enjoy not being sliced apart.
It's incomprehensible that a non-retarded, sober, person could WALK INTO A SPINNING PROPELLER THEY KNOW IS THERE.
I mean, I walk into doors all the time, a propeller is louder but I could totally see someone doing something dumb like that.

I assumed this was at night and the engines were off but the props were still spinning. Maybe not though. It could be there was so much noise she couldn't tell exactly where the props were in relation to the plane. Either way, she should not have stepped off the plane until the props were at a standstill.
It was at night and the pilot was a friend who was taking people up and down to see Christmas Lights over Dallas. I think only one passenger could go at a time, so the others were hanging out in the hangar. I am sure they were drinking as they waited for their turn to see the lights. I think it was like a little party.
This is sad, but she will get through it. Honestly, as someone who was a model and worked in fashion... maybe this will enable her to meet some more down-to-earth people. I don't know... looking for a silver lining. The surfer who lost her arm seems to be doing just fine.
I wouldn't go as far as to call her a stupid blond. We have all done dumb things in our lives. Disembarking a small prop plane can be somewhat confusing. This could happen to anyone, especially after having a cocktail or two.

This story was in the NY Times, there were over 45,000 comments with 75% either mean spirited or jokes....aren't people great.

Terrible things happen to people we don't know everyday. Many of them accidents and not their fault. Can't spend a lot of time feeling bad for people you don't know.
This was an extraordinarily stupid, nearly impossible, thing to do. It's not tragic, it's dumb, and 100% her fault.
