I agree - Dunbar isn't one of the big 3.
These are not really assumptions. Why Dunbar is leaving....those are assumptions on my part - but I stand by my points about both programs. I know a pretty good deal about both, I'm not entirely just spewing stuff out - even if it is nonsense!
I agree that Portland gets the most out of their runners - mostly. Portland is great at taking 9:20 guys and turning them into low 14 guys. What Portland is not good at is taking 9:00 guys and turning them into elite NCAA runners.
I do agree that 90% of Oregon's success has came through recruiting. But I believe that Andy Powell is one of the very top coaches in the country (opinion and possibly an assumption).
If I am looking at being the best I can be in a 10k I'm choosing Portland. If I am a 9:10-9:25 guy, I'm choosing Portland. If I'm coming out of HS thinking about the Olympics in the 5k below - I'm choosing Oregon.
But I've always been kind of a dumb-a@@ so what do I know!
