Have you lost weight by eating more food?
Yes. In high school I was anorexic, lost an unhealthy amount of weight (30 pounds in ~2 months) and started running as a result of that (to stay thin). In high school and college I continued to obsess over my weight and restricted to under 1800 calories despite running 70+ mpw. I eventually got injured, had to stop running and then gained a bunch of weight from my the combination of not running and my metabolism being out of whack (holding onto everything I ate). So basically the reverse effect of the goal to be thin in the first place.
I have finally gotten healthy, but it has taken about 5 or 6 years. I now eat 2000-2500 calories a day, run 50-60 mpw and have lost weight. I'm not 110 like when I was anorexic, but that's because that is an unnatural weight for ME. I have so much more energy and feel a lot stronger than I used to. Even though I was "fast" for a short period of time while I was under-eating, it caught up to me, just like it does everyone else. Unfortunately, that's why you don't hear from a lot of female runners after college.
