Go to Victoria's Secret. Gift more for you than her.

A nice gallon of egg nog.
Running related gifts for my daughter this year are socks, body glide, and a copy of Once a Runner.
Here's a great idea:
Spikes, the stick, tights or tops for winter, maybe some traction devices for your shoes if you hit ice a lot.
Didn't go through the whole thread, but cold weather clothing from Sport Hill makes a great gift. The best I've ever tried.

Ugh. Sporthill has to be the worst athletic clothing I've every owned. Anything made for the waist up is made to fit short fat people. Apparently their target market in Eugene.
I'd strongly suggest never buying anything but shorts from this company.
This foam roller is the ultimate gift.

Its great especially because it provides injury prevention benifits for the runner and a lot of entainment for everyone else as you watch the runner roll in agony

How about a nice display for your race medals?

These displays have the same stupid mottos as those motivational posters. I sure wouldn't want a woman to see that (gay) "Pride" one on my wall!

and some compression socks to wear while drinking it
The perfect pushup since all runners are skinny bird chested guys who seriously need to put on muscle in order to not die alone
Looking for a gift idea for a running nerd. Please help.
A fanny pack. You can never go wrong with a fanny pack.
You can always buy those cool arm warmers with a pair of vibrams.

I hear ya.
To the OP and his question,
I think the best gift for a runner is a gift card to Amazon, Road Runners, Sports Authority, Dicks, New Balance, Puma, Adidas, Nike or any running/sports affiliated store where they can pick whatever they want.
Can you tell these are the places I shop? Wink.
bump want ideas
Gift certificate from an orthopedist or podiatrist would be nice.
