Yeah what a joke on the results, the Men's teams are probably already back at their hotel rooms. Hopefully this will push to get this meet out of the dump that is Indiana State.

so paper results were up 40 minutes ago? And nothing online yet? WTF???
Ain't that the truth. The results better be up by the time I finish shaving my logo into my hair, complete with lightning bolts. Word to your mother!

This delay has nothing to do with where the meet is moron.

I wonder how popular basketball and football would be if they announced the winner at an undetermined time several minutes to several hours after the games.
Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way but... I LIKE that women race a 6k. It makes it far more interesting to have long and middle distance runners meet over a middle ground.
I would prefer the Men to run 8k rather than 10k. Or maybe both could run 8k. That would be the ideal.
Results are now up on our site here:
Would be nice if the Individual results listed the school.
Nice post ^. Props.
I would love to watch a replay of the women's finish. Will NCAA.com archive the live feed coverage? Or did anyone else record it and can you repost on YouTube? Thanks!
""I'd like to see the women's race moved up to 10k. Especially since they have 18 scholarships to spread around, they can afford to recruit 10k specialists instead of having the milers get all the focus. I don't think anyone believe anymore that XXs can't run as far as XYs. So why not give the female distance runners a venue instead of focusing on the middle distance stars? That would allow schools to build around a wider diversity of events, making the sport deeper and richer.""
~~Wow, I couldn't disagree more with your post. There is a reason why the women's race was more exciting than the men's. In a 10k, you rarely find the excitement and racing battles that you do in a 6k. If the women move up to 8k or 10k, you will entirely eliminate the 800/1500 meter runner from the mix. I like the women's distance because it allows the true distance runner to mix it up with true middle distance runners. It makes it very exciting, and you never know who is going to win that battle from year to year.
If it aint broke, then don't fix it!
Looking at the women's team results, it is very clear that the 5th runners decided the meet.
Georgetown's 5th - 46th place
Washington's 5th - 66th place
Villanova's 5th - 99th place
Florida State's 5th - 58th place (but no one in the top 20)
Georgetown's pack was awesome. 9 seconds from 2-5 and only 13 places.
10K is a long way!
I'm a fan of having a world cross type thing at least for the men
Have a short course (4K)for all the 800-1500 types that don't run 90-100 miles a week...
It would also add another race and another championship to the meet which is over with in under an hour total. I don't if it happens just a thought.
As a female runner, I really would like to see the distance moved up at least to 8k. Is there some way we can go about doing this? A petition?

Last thing: you should really stop self-righteously telling people to grow up, calling people ignorant (total misuse of the word there, by the way - why don't you save that for someone who doesn't know where Libya is, or who thinks women aren't capable of racing a 10k), etc. I guess our opinions differ, but why not argue that he was running as hard as he was capable instead of launching a personal attack? This is sports. Spectators dissect sports and hold athletes to high standards of performance. It's not a big deal. We're talking about a game here.
Keep trying to dig yourself out of the hole you seem to have fallen in. You're not getting very far.
I'll continue to call out people who make ridiculous statements about how people who are better pacing themselves are somehow not trying or running to their capabilities. Even Craig Virgin is doing a great disservice when he makes statements like the pack has no chance catching the frontrunner when the lead was only 11 seconds or that Hasay had "more guts" because she made the first move on the stretch. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with guts, it has to do with simple decisions every runner makes at some point that they feel will give them the best chance of running their best. Some of those decisions are bad, some are good, and some would make no difference because you have no control over how somebody else will perform.
When you start to understand these things, you will no longer be IGNORANT of the facts that you are confusing as opinion.
Personally, I think the men should be moved back down to 8k. 10k is boring as sh*t.
Congratulations to WISCO great job!!!!
OSU can hold their heads high. Their first 4 ran faster times than last year and Stubs was 15 seconds slower.Even had Stubs equaled his time from last year they still would have lost.
hmmm, if i recall they got the winners trophy to both wisco and g-town pretty quick after the race. i think it came fast enough for the winners and the overall top teams/individuals. its running gomers like all the people on this board who can't wait more that 10 minutes for the rest of the results.
seriously, what's the rush to find out who was 58th overall? its not like you have to wait until tomorrow. ease up, little ponies...keep some perspective.
