I've got a little sympathy for UNC's situation (but not much coming from an era where only 22 teams made NCAA's). How did Florida get worked?
It looks like you needed to get points from more than one meet to get an at-large bid. Other than their conference meets, Florida and UNC raced each other in Gainesville when maybe they should have been at Paul Short, Griak, or Notre Dame.
Push rule seems to be a decent rule. Some schools don't have the budget to travel, schools that have big points should be able to push other schools into the meet.
