Right. I'm wondering what the conditions where, and how he survived. I hope he is not injured and will soon recover to full health and fitness.
Teens and 20s with snow. Being out there for 48 hours with just a jacket and street clothes would be fairly rough. A few hours, moving around no problem, but if he was out there all that time yeah that would be tough. This is at a semi-urban wooded area. There are bike paths through there, but many busy city streets nearby. It's not wilderness. Who knows, what actually happened may never become public. The good news is that he has been found.

On a related note, moving Africans to Alaska is a big deal purely on the issue of Vitamin D. Africans need far, far more Vit D than Caucasians anyway and they'd get next to none that far north, especially in winter.
The coach would do well to try supplementing them with 30,000iu per day. I cannot help but wonder whether the kid who suffered from depression got enough - that can be a sympton of deficiency.
