CROW - That's what I'm having for dinner. But I'll be the first to come on here and say A) I was wrong, and B) Huge props to Chico and Western who really surprised me with big performances! Midwaste, if you feel I'm short on crow I can give you my address and you can send me some more in the mail.
WESTERN MEN - by far the best performance at nationals I have ever seen! Unbelievable! I really can't put words on how much every guy on that team stepped up. Huge credit to the mountaineers. 27 points... at nationals... are you kidding me?
HAEBE PENNEL - I was disappointed in a sophmore outkicking his SENIOR teammate for the win. The classy thing to do would have been to go in side by side (Like a TEAM?) and let the photo decide. I guess it's hard to say though what anyone would do in that situation but I would like to think I would give it to the senior if I had 2 more years. But maybe that competitiveness is what just won them a title.
AUGIE WOMEN - Another stunner of a performance. Them and Western's men turned this into the most exciting nationals ever. Huge props there as well.
Well it was a disappointing day for me as a Mines fan, but if I have to eat crow, I prefer it with the Red Tabasco than with the Green Tabasco.

Bullsh**! What kind of competitor wants a victory that is given to him? And what kind of teammate expects another teammate to tank for him?
There are no assurances that Pennel will have another shot. He was the best man this year. Full props to him.
Western State 27 pts. - Rest of Division II 37 pts.

You're entitled to that opinion, but I disagree. I believe Bauhs gave one to Serrano in track and I thought it was classy. I guess I've always thought Tyler was one of the nicest most humble guys in the sport and would have liked to see him get a well-earned title. Just my opinion.
NAIA would take down DII XC
The banquet has free beer!!
Tyler must be thrilled with second then, considering where nice guys usually finish.

Absolutely disagree, but I know that you're biased.

"You, my friend, are an idiot - a smart person would never assume that they will have this opportunity again (trust my years of running and coaching) there are no guarantees in our sport!!!!!!!!

You owe it to all of your fellow competitors to race. Under extremely rare circumstances would I promote "not racing". I have tied a couple of times in my career and I regret those instances.
I think most honorable Senior athletes would be very upset if he or she was provided with a tainted victory.
The rules are easy, just race.
