SV is looking for VC-type mentalities that don't code, but that drive business and entrepreneurship. Someone on this post nailed it, I have $140 base, $30k bonues, $50k equity and live in a 4/3 4136sq ft house buy my wife also pulls in a significant income.
This is a completely ignorant post but unfortunately is typical among people who have zero understanding of how good software gets built.
The barrier to entry is WAY too low in software... I will out design and out develop, by myself, any random raft of 10 Indian or high school guys you care to find. One of the biggest problems in software is too many who can 'type', but have zero clue about how to design software in a productive/extensible/maintainable way. The world is overflowing with shi**y coders, it has nowhere near enough craftsmen/women who actually get it.
