For someone who's been making bold and self-assured predictions here for about 37 years, you show a remarkable resistance to integrating new, obvious information into your smack-talk, although maybe that's to be expected.

Hall's run today was, pound for pound, as good as his effort in Boston. He hung with the leaders for as long as was feasible without being reckless about it. He faded but did not die altogether, and it was warm, which in general always seems to affect East Africans less.

I'm sure if you coached him, you could have him running 2:15 and dropping out of every other race in no time.

I'd like to know HER dew point.

He lost about one minute over the last 5k which should be of a concern to him. Had he maintained over the last 5k, he would have been around 2:07 flat which is about right considering what Mosop ran.

The Russian woman that won the women's race looks very suspicious. She seems so fresh after the marathon. It is like she could even break the 2:15 mark. No sweats at all. She looks even a little embarassed. Total opposite from the men's race winner. Me thinks, she is taking some good drugs to race that fast.

Shobukhova, fantastic run and has to be the early favourite for next year's Olympics with Moses.

I am a bit disappointed with Fukushi's performance, but considering she ran a PB by about fifteen minutes I am not too disappointed. I just wish she had not fallen away quite so much.

Well..it was a race!!!....not a time trial!!. I give him credit for competing as long as he could. So it went out fast. Guess what? That's what "racers" do.

I agree with you. I'm just saying that it wasn't a terrible result.

Given that Hall needs to be ready to race a much more important race in 3 months, who even knows how much he peaked and focused on Chicago.

This is what Jafred (winner of Eindhoven marathon today in 2h05:48)said: “I train with (the 2011 Boston Marathon winner and the fastest marathon man in the world) Geoffrey Mutai who won here in 2008 and 2009. He told me what a nice course it was in Eindhoven, how fast and flat it was.However, Mutai has been very strong in training so I thought I was only thinking about running 2:07. I was not confident I was going to run faster."

I wonder what Mutai can do now! These kenyans are really stepping up the game!

That's the bummer about Kenyan apparently picking two of their OG marathon team already. The way the Kenyans turn over, the fastest guy in Kenya might not even make the team. Wish the US had that problem.

I like how they completely ignored Shobukhova's husband and only talked with her and her daughter. The commentary was atrocious, as usual. How many cliches and slogans can you repeat?

The problem is that you are trying to use logic with ttc who is incapable of logic, demonstrated time and time again. He was one of those proclaiming there was no wind aid in Chicago, so by his definition Ryan ran much worse today than at Boston.

I never said there wasn't wind aid in Boston, so quit lying. There was huge wind aid there. You guys don't even know how to make a point. On a fast course, a 2:08 is well below Hall's standards, after years of consistently amazing marathons. I hope he was just ill, which then would explain it. But otherwise...

which consistently amazing marathons were those? Hall is consistently good, but only the oly trials and boston were amazing
