I guess we can say the Badgers aren't too shabby this year?

Florida sucks. So much for their ranking. Bombing hard.
Lutz was out in 9:07, Lukas V was out in 8:54...hmmmmmm
WTF Lukas. Wasn't he supposed to run like a 3 minute world best in his first ever 8K? The kid's almost as disappointing as Ryan Hall!
anyone know why Indiana split up their team? They would have been top 3 if they ran everyone here

LV went through 3k with the top 10 and finished 62nd. Ouch. In fact, theres only two other people who were under 9:00 through 3k that finished worse than he did.
Stories of the day:
-Lukas = too much hype
-Texas is (hands down) the dark horse for nationals
-Wisco proves that they are contenders
-"Bombed" team of the day (aka probably not going to nationals) = Florida
LV will learn. Obviously he is not yet in shape after a Summer of Tri training, which was not very difficult for him. He went out way too fast, and dropped bad in last 4k. Nothing really surprising. I suspect he'll be schooled by Vin on that strategy.
BTW, what was the first actual race that Centro ran as a Duck, and does anyone know the results? I don't, but I'd like to know...[quote]Wisconsin Predicting wrote:
HAHA oh let the Letsrun hate begin on LV. I would have never guessed people on this website to be SOOOOO upset over his performance especially how much hype he has gotten. TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta give mad props to Lutz, looks like he ran a really smart race. And either IU is peaking for nats, or somethings wrong. Last year they had 3 guys under 24, this year 0.
Ryan Hill ran an excellent time. Wisconsin's spread was 2 seconds. Impressive

Whatever about the progression of German Fernandez under Dave Smith at OSU, what the hell is up with Chris Derrick? He's consistent I'll give him that but he is running the exact same times since he was a Freshman! 23:3X 13:29... He should be destroying Cabral, Hill, Estrada...
Also, David McCarthy beat his Friar team mate Dominic Channon by 45 seconds at a dual meet last month and only 1 second today. Did he plan on running with Channon and the Freshman who was 8 secs back in 31st or did he just bomb?
Not sure about McCarthy but it was a great run by Quinn - anyone know the story with Lee Carey?
I wouldn't be surprsied if Vin told LV to "go for it" in this race, knowing damn well that LV is not ready for prime time. This does a couple of good things: 1) brings LV back to earth and shows him how far he needs to go at this time; 2) he will listen to Vin; 3) he will be motivated to be running at or near the front at the end of the race, rather than the first mile.
This results may be the best thing that could happen to him right now -- get it over with and realize that he has a long way to go. I don't doubt that he'll get there.
yea so much for that. Ihmels sucks at coaching men. Stick with women Corey
