That's a nice competitive run by the pack. Well done. Would love to see a video of it.

same course they have had in many years past. It's not short.
Anyone know what happened to Christo Landry? DNF?
for those who assume that trafeh is doing something illegal, just stop posting. there's no need in implying things like that. trafeh was a great runner in high school and a great runner now. why do some people on letsrun have to be such douches? he's innocent until proven guilty so just lay off... the guy had a great run under his own natural abilities
great run by scott smith for 9th! i hope to see him start to move up... hopefully by the olympic trials, he'll be in contention for a spot to london!

I'm not saying that Trafeh is doing something illegal. I am not even implying this.
But, "the guy had a great run under his own natural abilities" is a statement that suggests that you know his status vis-a-vis the use of PEDs. How is it that you know? It seems as likely to an outside observer that the folks you are complaining about know as it does that you know.
It is better in general to avoid making claims of which you really know nothing.
nailed it on the head. we ALL know nothing about whether his is, or isn't doing anything. what we DO KNOW is that he went from barely being able to break 66min in a 1/2 marathon, to running almost 60flat in very short order. we alos know that he spends a lot of time in a country where there has been quite a lot of "activity" if you will, and it's probably a lot less likely that usada would send someone all the way over there to give him an out of comp test as well. so we don't KNOW anything, but if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, acts like a duck....aw fwuck
I don't know anything about testing in Morocco, but if you go to the usada.org site and look up Trafeh, it shows he has been tested 6 times since 2000.
By comparison, over the same time:
True has been tested 4 times,
Gotcher 10 times,
Moran 32 times,
Strang 0 times,
Abdi 60 times,
Barnicle 0 times,
Braun 4 times,
Smith 0 times, and
Vail 4 times.
I don't think the amount Trafeh has been tested is necessarily out of line with the other figures.

That could describe Ryan Hall, more or less.

22,000 $ payday for Trafeh! Not bad for 46 mins worth of work.
However, not quite as good when you consider the years of running and months of specific training it took to be able to run that.
I'm even more interested to see how the Olympic Trials are going to pan out now.
uhh, wha....yes, hall made a big jump- when he changed DISTANCE. prior to that, he'd run 13:teens. do tell, when the hell did trafeh EVER do anything close to that. he was a freaking 14min guy. I'm absolutely certain he never broke 65min (prove me wrong!) and likely never broke 29min.now, explain how ryan hall's heading to flag or mammoth, or santa rosa or big bear is similar to going 5000+ miles away for "training"???

Now, as far as usada goes, guess what kids, at least 5 of those tests were in comp (new haven, gate river, us 1/2, nyc 1/2). good chance that NONE of them were out of comp. how the heck does he manage to avoid the out of comp list? crazy. and sad too. and "out of line with..." wtf??? how many titles has gotcher won? how many has abdi won? moran? trafeh has won more us titles than all of those guys combined but only tested 1 TENTH as much as abdi. that's pathetic. time for usada to get on the ball.

Thanks.
Trafeh is a foreigner, and Hall is white. That explains everything on these message boards. Foreigners arent treated as well whether in compettions or here compared to white folks. When its all said and done Trafeh will be kicking his ass at the trials.
I cant stop but laugh when people take sides on these boards. I became a huge fan after I met Trafeh at Cow Harbor. Good runner, nice guy, humble and he has a sweet stride.
True would have won if he hadn't been tracking Aaron Braun for the USARC title. He closed what looked to be about a 10 second gap in the last half mile after falling behind while running next to Braun.
ask around in the elite side of the community, trafeh has that rep for a reason. hint, it's not jealousy, esp when you don't have a lot fo friends.
This course is blazing fast every time it is run. I would guess it's about 30 seconds short. Still quality performances.
Lisa Koll was originally slated to run this, anyone know what happened?
The course has been measured and remeasured by people who know what they are doing. It's been the US champs many times. It isn't like some guy in a car or with a Garmin has laid it out. There happens to be very reliably cool and calm weather in Minneapolis in the fall and, as a championship race, it attracts excellent fields.
